Yes, it's November 2024, Donald Trump, the "crypto candidate" won the US election and kicked off the bitcoin bull run 📈🚀 and with it the likes of Dogecoin and Peanut The Squirrel coin 🙄.
If you bought Shiba Inu, Pepe, Dogwifhat, BONK, FLOKI... you probably made a killing, so congrats. Don't spend it all in one place though.
If you're like me, however, you don't even glance at those tokens because you believe in projects with fundamentals or maybe you got burned in the past. Either way, you have a small portfolio of the handful of assets you believe solve a real problem and right or wrong, you stick to it.
Here's mine:
Bitcoin
Although not the first cryptocurrency I acquired, it was definitely the one that convinced me about decentralized ledger technology. It's the asset I stack and hold for the long haul and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
I first bought bitcoin at $3,800 in mid 2019 and have tried day trading it and when I've managed to take some profits from it, I've tried moving it to other coins like CUB and lost it all. With all the dumb moves I've made in the past, I'm now determined to buy bitcoin with time and effort and hold it for a very long time. If I do decide to spend it for some reason, like making a video or something, I'll replace it as soon as I can.
Acquire, HODL, spend, replace.
My bitcoin strategy is very simple.
Dash
This is a coin I recently got into because I've seen Joel Valenzuela's content on X and now on several of the spaces created by Hive Ecosystem citizens like Khal of INLEO. Joel, who's been living on Dash since 2015 talks about this OG coin that many claim to be the oldest functioning DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization )whose purpose is to be a better Digital Cash system (hence the name) providing speed and privacy to its users.
Worthwile? I don't know yet, but I do like The desertlynx's content on the interwebs as he truly seems to believe in freedom money and after all, that's why we're here, right?
Thorchain Rune
I didn't know anything about Thorchain protocol until I hear Khal raving about it. A decentralized liquidity protocol that allows you to swap native assets from different blockchains without them being wrapped or synthetic. A cross-chain DEX (Decentralized Exchange) if you will. Thorchain harnesses the power of the Rune token in its liquidity pools in order to make the cross-chain swap.
All liquidity pools in the system consist of a native token-RUNE. Like this:
Nodes in the network are also required to stake a particular amount of Rune in order to operate.
With the growing need for DEXs, I've come to believe that this coin is something worth holding in my portfolio.

Hive
Last, but certainly not least, my favorite of all freedom tools, $HIVE.
What can I say? I'm overexposed at the moment and I don't mind.
I don't depend on HIVE to eat or pay rent, so I keep earning it as much as I can through as many ways as possible. In fact, I'm determined to build my staked HIVE to around 230,000 HP by 2030. When I make it, I hope to be surrounded by other holders that believe in a protocol that has an awesome community, allows us to send value -encrypted if need be- without third party oversight, very cheaply and very fast.
Aside from individual holders, I hope to see projects that harness the power of the hive blockchain in their backend, providing their own services for end-users while executing thousands of transactions on HIVE underneath the hood. these projects will need resource credits and to get them, they'll need to acquire HIVE from the markets.
I hope to see a thriving peer-to-peer marketplace where small businesses and freelancers exchange work as well as digital and physical goods.
By then (2030?) I could see Hive trading at $5 or even $10 per coin, in which case I'll feel comfortable selling some to buyers with the desire to enter an amazing protocol that allows for fast, feeless transactions, and I'll still have enough stake to participate in governance to keep my home safe.
I might be completely wrong and I could be working at a fast food restaurant while you enjoy your Lambo.
Would you like fries with that?
