Hello Crypto-friends!
As some of you know yesterday 5 March was my birthday.
In this post I am sharing the unexpected celebration.
MY NUMBER 58
In Chinese culture, the number 8 is considered very lucky. However, when it comes to my birthday, I don’t place too much belief in superstitions. Well, actually, I do—my 58th birthday turned out to be a lucky day; simple but filled with good fortune. I wasn’t expecting any sort of celebration, especially since the Year of the Snake has presented its challenges for me.
Arriving home around 6:00 PM, I was pleasantly surprised by my dear Joyce, who had prepared the classic pancit and some homemade empanadas. She also brought the cake—small but delicious. The thoughtfulness of these gestures was truly appreciated.
It was wonderful to have this surprise amid a day that lacked much enthusiasm. Throughout the day, I received birthday messages from Evie, my mom, my children—Jelai, Ale, and Sofi (who wished me the next morning) and Mary-Chuy with my granddaughter Sharon —as well as from colleagues at school and my friend Vic from Spain. Later, I enjoyed great company with my friend, Chef Marcelo (Chelo), and Danika. We shared some beers and ended the evening with karaoke. Personally, I’m not a fan of singing, but I love listening to others. However, I read that singing with friends can be beneficial for health, so I mustered the courage to join in. I overcame my shyness! :))
That was my number 58—an unexpected celebration that turned out to be quite special.
