I'm gonna tell you, I'm freaking mad, man.
This is not a rant, or at least I'm not writing this in order to throw punches at anyone specific or to stir the pot - we know it stirs itself every now and then, no need to add anything to the stove.
This post is intended to open the eyes of more than a few members of the Hive community that have an X (Twitter) account and use that account and the #hive tag to promote their content in this platform.
Have you ever thought that if you are going to use a web2 platform that is a direct competitor of Hive - at a bigger scale, their 450M users dwarf our hilariously weak 11k users - in terms of community building, perhaps you should use it to bring an audience to Hive, instead of using it selfishly to promote your own content, looking to get a few more cents of rewards in the social side of our blockchain?

Yep, I think we are the baddies.
I think we, as a community, are not leveraging X the proper way. It's nobodies fault, in the end nobody has taught us how to properly use X to bring more people into Hive, we just know it's a good place to shill our miscellaneous posts, use the #hive tag so that the very same community that roams in here can ignore our posts in a second platform, and hope and pray that a whale - who doesn't browse X - spares some votes our way.
Best case scenario, we get a few more cents, worst case scenario, we get deboosted and algorithm-hated because we only talk about Hive and we only share links that takes us away from X, which is something Elon hates as of late and penalizes.
I mean think about it, if you were a crypto investor or a content creator looking for a new home for your money or your content, and you heard about Hive somewhere, and then you go browse the #hive tag, only to find a spamfest of a feed that 99% looks like this, would you understand what the social side of Hive is, or would you have the time and drive to scroll endlessly and see if you find a website or an actual link that helps you understand the ecosystem?
Look at this:
Accounts are censored because I don't want to out anyone, this is just to give a quick example.
Stuff like this is worhless.
Think about it. This is not adding anything to your value as a content creator, and it is actually hurting Hive's visibility and perception to the outside creators and investors.
If we are going to use X to build a brand and get more impression because we want more upvotes, we should change the strategy. If we are going to use X to promote Hive, then we should focus on the actual promotion of the ecosystem, not on our post promotion.
I will be posting the most freaking thorough guide on how to build a brand on X, how to use the algorithm in our favor, and how to actually grow an audience there and use that in Hive's benefit, because God knows we need to grow our user base one way or another or the next bulls are going to eat us alive.
If you want me to tag you in that post, drop a comment here saying so.
