I just managed to lock my tokens to oblivion.
Like I put my coins in my wallet then threw away the keys into a blackhole, never to be retrieved again. Am I the only one who is like this?
The wallet account could be created through gmail, then the user is asked to create a separate password for the wallet. To this there was a pop-up warning that this password should be kept safe because they cannot help recover it.
the print was too small, i think i did not bother to read it. π
I created the wallet several months ago but I just recently used it. I transferred tokens into it without even bothering if the passwords I had written were correct.
I spent the past week trying to remember the wallet password but to no avail. I have tried to put all the possible combinations that I could think of. Still, nothing.

And this is not the first time. I was also locked out of my internet banking for a long time because when it prompted to update/change password, I cannot remember the old password.
How do you keep your passwords safe?
They say, never to keep a copy of your passwords digitally. For those instances that your device gets attacked by malware and whatnot.
I almost never use the "save password" option by google. I rely on my great memory, confident it would not let me down. This means that more likely, I have the same password throughout my digital accounts. This is a bad idea. It makes it very prone to hacking.
I have recently tried to update most if not all passwords. I almost even got locked out of my efBi account because I cannot remember my old password and I don't even have access to the original email address used to create the account. This brings me to -- update your passwords regularly and keep a copy of it somewhere safe and easy for you to access. The thing with these social media accounts is that it keeps us logged in and we almost never have to enter our passwords again until many months (or years?) later when we've most likely forgotten them (or maybe it's just me?!).
How do you manage your passwords?

Do you keep a copy of your passwords on paper? Then I hope it's not kept like mine:

The wallet password I am trying to decipher right now is more like "Account 2". It is listed in between two other passwords, confidently stating "same".
Now, what's "same" I don't know. Coz all the passwords I have, I already tried. :(
At least, be more organized. I have another page on my notebook with scribbles of accounts from different apps or websites. Then all the old and updated passwords are still there. When the time comes for me to retrieve them, I just end up using the "forgot password" option. The notes were of no use. LOL.
To my defense, my other crypto wallets and seed phrases are kept tidily. Only these types of accounts created through google are a mess.
I still wish to recover my crypto wallet.
Coz I don't know how I will feel if these tokens shoot up to the moon.
If I won't be able to recover, at the back of my head, I wish the token would floor to nothingness so I wouldn't need to sulk like this for a long time. π
I bet you have experienced something close to mine. How did you deal with it? Did it prompt you to have a more organized password recovery/back up?
