There's a hard evidence that the offline world is slowly becoming a forced night phase of an ever burning digital verse.
That is, if our entire existence in a tech-enabled world was thought of as night and day as technology grows on us, the digital realm is essentially considered a representation of “the day,” which theoretically never ceases to be there, but human biological limitations forces a night to exist and that's when we simply plug off our various digital channels or devices.
I am defining our “plug off” as a forced stage of action as most modern tech is designed to keep us entrapped in the digital realm, selling a great deal of our attention(without actually getting paid, by the way) in the process and sacrificing real-world bonds and our health in the process.
I personally spend an awful amount of time on my devices. As a full-on digital personality, from work down to everything else, I consistently hit over 11 hours daily average through the week across all my devices.
That is insane, even for me.
Make no mistake, that isn't 11hrs of working, it includes my movie viewing screen time, which I've recently indulge in a lot, and also music listening hours. So whilst some of the hours were spent on recreational activities, it's still an awful lot of time to spend on any device instead watching birds or sitting by the river, or better, touching some grass.
This is the reality we are living in these days, and it's only going to get worse, even though technology-wise, it's considered “advancements,” better phases through growth, by definition.
Urbanisation, AI-integrated, scaled smart cities and homes, less nature essentially and the worst of it all; a cashless economy.
Oh yes, that's where we're driving at, money is all I talk about after all, and there's a very good reason for that.
Private & Open-source Money
We can skip the moral pretense for one day and admit that money is absolutely everything.
Money = Security, so what are you without security? Short answer: dead.
We can talk about a lot of things that we require privacy for including basically all our social communication channels, but at the end of the day, what's most important in a world powered by money is to have a private way to move your wealth around.
Everything else can be taken care of along the line because if winning back our privacy is a gigantic building project, a private and decentralized money protocol is the foundation.
I've personally set out to learn more, in-depth, about privacy-enforced crypto assets like Monero moving forward as it has become clear that there are now the only scare of crypto left when it comes the government.
Think about it.
If they want bitcoin, they can get bitcoin(they already are doing this). If they want Ethereum, they can get it(always have had it). If they want to regulate stablecoins, they will, eventually, but what they can't get, regulate or stop is an open-source private money.
There are no real incentives for them to go after it in a big way as they'd simply risk more people realising that they need to be using that thing the government are trying to stop.
Sometimes the best way to avoid making people want something is to act like you don't want or care about it yourself.
This is why there aren't heavy press criticism of privacy coins or significant commentaries from government officials.
The pretense is hopeful wishes that only a few people will use this stuff at the end of the day and the greater population will remain where they want them because the use of force only leads to increase attention and demand given that people always want what they are not allowed to have.
Insurance of a democratic future
I love it in movies when someone says the line “it doesn't get any worse than this” right after something bad happens.
More times than not, it always gets worse and this is what is to be expected of our legal system and essentially, the world as technology grows to power everything.
A full-blown digital age means that human lives hangs by a thin thread to which the government holds the knife that can cut it.
The primary reason for this will be our cash-less economy. When your livelihood essentially depends on an electronic cash system, it better be one not control by a politically motivated/obligated individual or body.
We will essentially live in a hyper-centralized world irrespective of what part of the globe we are because political power has ultimately been scaled to a few button clicks.
Having open-source privacy tech with heavy focus on private money solutions is important for our freedom and ability to navigate the tech-powered world with little friction and centralized control.
A lot of people do not think we're there yet but it's closer than we can imagine with artificial general intelligence (AGI) being a recently prominent subject of discussion. Everyone knows that AI is a major indicator of a near transitioning to a “heavy on tech” reality.
To ensure we retain control as individuals in the governance of our world, essentially having some real democracy, we ought to invest a great deal into open-source and decentralized privacy tech, including private money.
Not to facilitate illicit monetary transactions but insure a future that isn't enslaved by the evil of the central banking system currently running fiat on the blood of the people.
