This is not something that happened today, but today, I realized how good they are and how they are helping our lives on a daily basis. The first innovation is Google Maps, and the second innovation is UPI payments in India. I'm going to be talking in detail about these two innovations and why suddenly today, they made me feel great.
Any innovation is important for changing the quality of our lives. Out of so many other innovations, these two innovations have definitely improved the quality of our lives.
Google Maps
I was traveling today where I was driving for over 8 hours. During my driving, I realized how important this innovation was to mankind. Google maps played a very important role in providing the directions to me. Imagine the world before Google maps. I agree that we used to remember the places we visit and we used to do all the navigations through our head. Today we are not even ready to remember some place.
I wouldn't say that the grass is always green everywhere. There are both pros and cons. Some people don't like Google Maps. There are reasons for that where people would have had bad experiences while traveling. But honestly, it is not the fault of Google Maps. So ignoring all these things, I think overall Google Maps is the most needed innovation that came to this world at the right time.
UPI payments
I'm not going to get into politics on who created UPI payments. But whoever created UPI payments, the basic fact is that it is awesome. Today I had to make a lot of UPI payments with the help of my mobile number without needing to go to banks or without needing to issue cheques or manual transfers. During an event we recently had, I had to make all the payments through UPI. This was awesome because all the payments that I made is clean and visible to the government officials.
The second reason why I think UPI payments are a big revolution is that after UPI payments, people hardly use NEFT or other modes of transfer. I also heard that this feature is going to be available in other countries as well. The starting value for UPI payments is as low as 1 rupees which is a great thing.
