It's Been A While ..
Since I last shared my adventures in the world of precious metals stacking.. Life took me on various paths, and although I got involved in different things, my love for stacking never waned. Recently, I've been diving into the past, exploring old treasures, mainly antiques and vintage items that I’ve picked up here and there over the years and always with the intention of selling them for a profit. So, my decision to sell these items and reinvest the proceeds into something smart, like silver and gold, should come as no surprise.
And if Molly were still here with me, and not on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, she would have to agree. Sorry it is not a treat to eat!
Among a few of the items I am selling .. (Yes, That is a Ford Model T Key and not as uncommon as you may think) That are sitting on my desk right now, are a pair of 1921 Silver Peace Dollars. These coins hold a special place in my heart, not just for their intrinsic and stacking value, but for the rich history they carry. Hands down, in my opinion, the Peace Dollar is one of the most beautiful made. Something about this depiction of lady liberty simply speaks to me.
The 1921 Peace Dollar .. Known for its 'High Relief' design, is a true gem for collectors. The intricate detailing and raised features give it a unique charm that's hard to resist. Again I must confess, these coins are among my absolute favorites. I find myself admiring them more often than I'd like to admit.
While my collection may not boast the absolute best specimens .. Each piece holds its own as a fine representation of this iconic coin. The allure of the high relief design, coupled with Lady Liberty and the beauty of the Bald Eagle, is irresistible and captivates me every time I lay eyes on them. Before you get excited and yell at me.. Although I am selling 'STUFF' I'm not parting ways with these treasures. I assure you they are here to stay.
The 1921 high relief Peace Dollar is not just a collector's delight .. It's a piece of history. I can't help but imagine the stories these coins could tell if they could speak. Whose pocket were they in? What was purchased with them? Who took them out of circulation? While they might fetch a handsome sum in the market, my interest lies not only in their monetary value but in the joy they bring me.
In my continuous quest, I'm always on the lookout for more additions to my collection.. The thrill of finding another high relief Peace Dollar (a nicer specimen than I have now) is an adventure I relish. Each new Peace Dollar acquisition, whether 1921 or 2021, adds to the story of my passion for precious metals stacking.
So, why do I keep adding to my collection? .. The answer is simple – the love for the artistry, history, and the timeless beauty that precious metals embody. As I stack more silver and a bit of gold, I realize that this journey is not just about accumulating and preserving wealth; it's about cherishing the tangible pieces of history that connect us to the past.
Who knows, maybe there's room for just one more high relief Peace Dollar in my ever-growing stack.
Hehehe .. What will it hurt? :)
She Was The Queen
Poem By BDMiller
In a town quite small, with a pup named Molly,
Her love for coins was quite jolly.
A Peace Dollar, silver and grand,
In Molly's paws, she'd proudly stand.
With a wagging tail and a gleam in her eye,
She'd guard that coin, oh so spry.
Barking at squirrels, chasing her tail,
But the Peace Dollar? It would never fail.
In her doggy dreams, she'd count each Peace,
A canine collector, her passion would never cease.
Molly, the dog with a dollar so serene,
In the world of coins, she was the queen!
