Time flies when you're having fun and it seems 2 years have passed since dCrops farming game was launched on the Hive blockchain. As I've spent much of my childhood in the country side with my grandparents, I've grown fond of agriculture since my early age and I simply love the life where the nature, humans and animals coexist together and build memories from a time where you didn't have to worry about anything. Thus, when dCrops came to life on the Hive blockchain, I had to give it a try and see if I can replicate the joy and routine from my childhood. As I got involved in different projects on the Hive blockchain for dCrops I have used one of my alt accounts - @photoark where I've gathered all my NFTs and assets from the game.

Planting and harvesting
As dCrops is mostly an idle game, I got into it mostly because of that and because the farming world is fascinating. The seasons rotation is a smart cycle that makes use of different seeds and cultures that a farmer usually does in the real life. Thus, one suggestion would be to ensure that you have a diversity of seeds in order to be able to plan and harvest your culture each season.
But how can you cultivate without land? And if you want better cultures, you need better land. And in dCrops we have land with different qualities and rarities. In my case I enjoy farming on "FERTILE LAND" and "AVERAGE FARMLAND", which is good enough for an unexperienced farmer like me. But if you want to take this to another level, there are better lands to lay your cultures.
Crafting and building
These are the actions that I usually take in the game as I don't have enough time on my table in order to expand and do more. But there are more developments and actions that one can do in order to get better earnings and be an active farmer by moving from production to manufacturing activities. Here is a list of additional activities that a farmer can do besides planting, harvesting and selling the prime goods.
- Craft based on various recipes and get base items like Sugar, Paprika, Ketchup, Flour, Oil, Pickle and so many others
- Cook based on various recipes and ingredients and enjoy meals containing Rice, Bread, Roasted Turnips, Detox Smoothie, Fried Rice, Hashbrowns, French Fries and many others
- Craft building materials from wood, stone, copper, iron and even gold and get wood plank, stone stab, charcoal, copper ingot, iron ingot, gold ingot
- Craft equipment like furnace, kiln, saw mill, windmill, bee hive, preserve barrel, cask, oil press, blender, oven, microwave, stove, fridge, toaster, deep fryer
- Plan trees in order to harvest fruits - orange, mango, peach, apple
We can see that dCrops keeps on building and covers more and more activities from the farmer's life while enriching the tokenomics of such a metaverse and simulation. I keep on enjoying the simple life in dCrops of planing and harvesting, but I see that there is so much more besides that. A goal for me would be to expand my knowledge and try to craft the basic harvested plants in order to grow in the game and see better results as in real-world. I would like to see the game adding some agricultural machines like tractors in order to bring more mechanics into the planting and harvesting use case. The development potential is huge and the game keeps on growing from one cycle to the other.
