Hive blockchain is the true implementation of web3 principles and the social media built here is quite strong. And while the user base grows day by day and while many of the users may not even realize it, we already distinguish different influencers putting they mark hard on this ecosystem. With that in my I am proposing an influencers tiers scheme and to run some stats to see where we are founding ourselves on the scale of everything that happens on the Hive blockchain. One thing specific to this ecosystem is that the influencer ranking is somehow related to the trust score that we are building up here. This opens new opportunities and way to collaborate within this ecosystem, but also outside.
Influencer tiers
On the Hive blockchain, I have envisioned the following influencer tiers:
- Nano-influencers - 0 to 1,000 followers
- Micro-influencers - 1,001 to 5,000 followers
- Mid-tier influencers - 5,001 to 10,000 followers
- Macro-influencers - 10,001 to 50,000 followers
- Mega influencers - 50,001 or more followers
Nano-influencers
Nano-influencers have up to 1K followers. This means they have small, personable, and manageable audiences. It’s going to be easier for nano-influencers to give that personal touch to their 1K followers than any other tier. This translates into very high engagement rates as they tend to have much more highly engaged, more authentic audiences. The people who follow them trust them. Because nano-influencers feel like real people, sometimes even friends, whose opinions you can trust.
Micro-influencers
Micro-influencers have between 1K-5K followers. They’re similar to nano-influencers in that their audiences see them as highly authentic. This means they usually have high engagement rates. What sets them apart from Nanos is that they have a bit more experience and have built more trust on Hive. In most cases micro-influencers could already have some projects running in this ecosystem and they have been part of different collaborations.
Mid-tier influencers
Mid-tier influencers have between 5K and 10K followers. They have higher reach than nano and micro-influencers but their engagement rates can start to drop off in this tier, depending on the network and category they find themselves. A more practical difference here is that many mid-tier influencers might be on Hive full-time, while nano and micro-influencers also do their social media work as a side hustle to a day job. In this tier, you can also expect to see some established businesses on the Hive blockchain.
Macro-influencers
Macro influencers have between 10K and 50k followers. They’ve made it to the big leagues, and they have enough followers to be considered Hive celebrities. Their increased reach means that a collaboration with them would reach many more people and that they have enough power to be part of a project or business that flies around here.
Mega-influencers
The final influencer tier is the mega-influencers, who have 50k or more followers. They have the ultimate reach, and they usually have followers from around the world. They have big businesses, already reached financial freedom and simply seek continuous personal and business development and putting their ideologies into practice. And they often can do so...
Influencer's stats - August 2024
Influencer's Tiers | No of Influencers |
---|---|
Nano-influencers (1k) | 1,376,719 |
Micro-influencers (1k-5k) | 12,365 |
Mid-tier influencers (5k-10k) | 688 |
Macro-influencers (10k-50k) | 244 |
Mega influencers (50k+) | 2 |
In my view the influencers on Hive are well established people and businesses which have gained the trust of their followers and are even an inspiration of what you can do in this great ecosystem. I am taking this influencers stats as a fun thing to present to the Hive community, but also to make it inspiring for those that might like a challenge. Networking is very important and through our follower's base we can grow and develop ourselves on Hive, but also outside by continuing to connect and share the common goals and beliefs. I hope you like this approach and see you with another update next month to see how much the needles was moved in one direction or the other.
