As a passionate OG member of the Hive blockchain community, I'm excited to finally start a project in this space: RealTimeHive (RTH). This project aims to provide real-time statistics on the Hive blockchain, bringing a new level of transparency and insight to all Hivians. The hardest thing for me until this point, considering that I am not a DEV at core, was to start something. I want to disclose from the begging that I had as the starting point the open source project SteemDash created by Matt Rosen and hive.codergeek.org on which Rick Nuthman continued the development. And from this base, I will continue adding new functionalities and extend it based on my own experiences, but also any community proposals or suggestions that will come my way.
The idea behind RealTimeHive (RTH) was to have a platform where users can access live data and updates about their Hive assets, transactions, market trends, and overall blockchain performance. But it doesn’t stop there. The potential applications for real-time stats are vast, and here are just a few of the directions I see this project going:
Live Wallet Monitoring
Imagine being able to monitor your Hive wallet in real-time, getting instant updates on any incoming or outgoing transactions at the base layer. This feature can help users keep track of their funds by transparently seeing how the numbers evolve.
Blockchain Metrics Monitoring
For any interested party, RealTimeHive will provide insights into the Hive blockchain's metrics as a whole like number of accounts, posts, comments, engagement etc. This data should provide insight about the movement of this entire ecosystem.
Account Transaction Analytics
By analyzing real-time transaction data, users can better understand the flow of Hive and HBD across the network. This could help in identifying trends, such as the most active accounts or the most popular transactions.
Community Engagement Metrics
Real-time stats on community activity—like posts, comments, and votes, can help content creators and community managers gauge engagement levels and understand what content resonates most with their audience.
Community Suggestions
I am a strong believer of suggestions coming from end users, so I'll welcome any proposal of improvement or addition of new features and functionalities. If you need it, it means someone else might needed, so this is a good point to grow the project.
In my opinion, having access to real-time stats on Hive is quite important. For content creators, it offers insights into engagement and trends. And for the broader community, it promotes transparency and a deeper understanding of the blockchain's inner workings. For crypto and Hive enthusiasts, it offers fast pace wallet information to see how held assets grow. And to be truthfully I am one of those that are checking the Hive wallet whenever having the time for it :).
This is a bridge post from my personal account (@behiver) to introduce the project and the other updates will be performed on the project account itself (TBD).
