Today, I want to share with you how you can actually start in Web3, even if you are a beginner. The goal is not to overwhelm you with technical jargon, but to help you begin exploring Web3 in a simple and practical way without expertise and without capital, These are my personal experiences that I present to you, as I learn something new every day like you.
First: As a first step, you need to have a Web3 wallet
In Web3, your wallet is like your passport; it allows you to connect to decentralized platforms, own your data, and even earn rewards for your activities, There are different wallets depending on the network you want to use, here are some good options:
- Hive Keyshan: Ideal for platforms based on Hive like InLeo and Ecency, it is free and does not impose transaction fees.
- MetaMask: One of the most popular wallets for Ethereum and Polygon opening the door to many decentralized applications
- Phantom: A simple and clear wallet for the Solana network, known for its speed mobile compatibility, and beginner-friendly features
Important Note: After setting up your wallet, keep your private keys safe as this grants you control over your digital identity.
Secondly: choose a blockchain that suits your interests
Not all blockchains are alike, each has its own features and communities, and here are some diverse options:
- If you're interested in writing, blogging, and earning money through cryptocurrency simply for publishing, Hive is a great option. It's fast and similar to Web 2, but rewards you in a Web 3 style.
- If you're interested in finance and non-fungible tokens, Ethereum is one of the most mature Web 3 systems, although it can be expensive due to gas fees.
- Do you want something faster and cheaper? Polygon would be the ideal choice; it's compatible with Ethereum but with lower fees, making it great for games and lightweight applications.
- And if you prefer mobile applications and social media tools, Solana is a fast and low-cost environment that is gaining increasing popularity among Web 3 users.
You can choose multiple platforms and work on them according to your interests.
Thirdly: Start working and earning money from Web 3 (without spending money)
There are unfounded beliefs that you need money to use Web 3; the truth is that you can start now for free as long as you are active. Here are some platforms you can try:
- InLeo: A platform based on Hive where you can publish articles, comment, and earn cryptocurrency rewards.
- Ecency: Another user interface on Hive that rewards you for blogging, formatting, and interacting with others.
- UXLINK: A social media platform on Web3 that allows you to earn money by sharing links, completing tasks, and inviting friends.
- Lens Protocol: Built on Polygon, it allows you to create a profile on social media sites and connect with others in a decentralized manner.

Whether you're a writer, a player, or just curious, you'll find your place in Web3, and you won't need capital to start. Just begin!
