I am Bilal, Hello everyone, Since I am new to the world of Web3 and I am gradually learning — just like many others — I wanted to share what I know and learn about Web3 to benefit beginners like myself.I will regularly publish simplified articles about what you should know, which will serve as a mini learning course. I hope to benefit you.
Let's start first with: What is Web3 ?
To understand that, we need to go back in time a bit :
Web1:
From the 1990s to the early 2000s, it was just reading with simple web pages. Interaction was not available, just reading.
Web2:
From the mid-2000s until now, it’s reading and writing with the emergence of Facebook, YouTube, and currently X (formerly Twitter), where users can interact, upload, and so on.
But: major companies own the platforms and your data.
Web3:
This is its beginning. It relies on "Read, Write, Own".
It is built on blockchain technology and grants users the ability to control their content, their wallet, and their governance.
Let's review the features of Web 3:
Decentralization: meaning there is no single company that controls everything.
Ownership: you own your tokens, content, and digital identity.
Cryptocurrency rewards: platforms like Hive allow you to earn just by contributing.
Transparency: everything is open source and connected to a blockchain.
The importance of Web 3:
Simply put, Web 3 rewards you directly, and platforms like Hive and Inleo are real examples; you write and people vote, unlike Web 2 and traditional platforms that hide your content and sell your data without your consent, and on top of that, you gain nothing from your hard work.
FInal Words
I am still learning, and maybe you are too, But this is the beauty of Web3 it is accessible to everyone, especially for those who are curious and ready to explore, I hope I have benefited you, even a little, Share your opinions with me about my upcoming article, Until then, take care.
