Yes, still there are new blockchains launching but many of them don't really see the light of day, are scams or just don't have the backing power or vision of a successful blockchain.

In reality every blockchain at least any of the newer ones is like a company that is fighting to be better than the other and provide solutions people want and gobble up their market share.

This will continue to be a thing but there at least for a while will always be some core blockchains that will always stand out on top such as bitcoin as a store of value that nearly every other asset is linked to.

Now when stablecoins become more common place this critical linking to bitcoin might start to blur and cause more blockchains and tokens to actully be tied to stable coins over bitcoin.

So what is this new blockchain we will be talking about today?

STORY

Yep, there's actully a blockchain called story...

So what exactly is story?

It's a layer one token that is specifically built for tokenizing intellectual property. Think primarily RWAs which seems to be the major focus as of late for blockchains.

RWAs IP if everything was fully put on to the blockchain would be around a 60 trillion dollar market cap. Which dwarfs what the current crypto market cap is at just around 3 trillion give or take a few billion. If we also look at stocks that's roughly another 60 trillion and real estate would be roughly another 60 trillion dollars in asset value.

So what is the IP focus of it that Story is all about?

IP stats for Intellectual property. So think of things like Design, Patents, Inventions, Copywrite, Brand etc.

So what are the benefits and why would anyone issue their IP on to the layer 1 blockchain Story?

This comes down to things like transparency where you yourself could prove you are the owner of the asset on an open ledger.

It can be tokenized allowing others to "invest" into the IP. You could also build smart contracts around it or lend it. Offering up a whole host of new but solid already used options for IPs. It's faster and also cheaper which is the move of everything these days. A big one for this would be royalties. The asset to be "lent" out to the movie or other studio and then tracked and then royalties would automatically be paid out to the IP.

I think one of the coolest things that could come of this would be fractionalized ownership of IPs like movies, music and then those earnings are split between all the owners of the token. This pretty much allows any music to be run like a company. If the IP or person behind the IP needs more capital quickly they might tokenize and sell off fractional ownership of their music to others to get that injection of revenue.

While most blockchains are focused on things like Stocks and bonds which don't get me wrong would be huge Story is going in another direction with ownership of IPs such as royalties which is actully a massive industry in itself. This currently gives story some unique advantages as to being a leader in the space.

What are IP Tokens Used For?

Story does has gas fees on it so having tokens will be required in order to do transactions on the chain. It's also a POS (Proof of Stake) layer one blockchain which means you'll earn more tokens for having them staked. On top of that it's also a Governance token.

Overall it seems like a strong and currently unique blockchain that if done right and building the right connections could be a leader in the IP space.
