From lurker to block-forger: meet your new favorite Hive Witness
Ladies and gentlemen, Hive-maniacs, degens and decentralization disciples, gather ‘round. This is not a drill.
I have officially become a Hive Witness.
Yep. Me. The guy who automates tipping bots for shits, giggles, and a bit of passive income. The guy who throws data pipelines around like drumsticks at a rock concert. The guy who was already a walking cliché of “power user with a purpose.” I am now also a block-forging, consensus-supporting, ecosystem-stabilizing badass.
And I’m doing it under the name you all know and trust: @botlord.
You didn’t see it coming, did you?
Why?
Because it’s time to step the f*ck up. That’s why.
Because Hive isn’t just some random corner of the web where people blog about cats and curate each other into oblivion (okay, it is, but also…). It’s decentralization done right, and it needs people who actually give a damn about keeping it that way.
And yes, I give a damn. Probably too many, but I’m working on that.
Being a Witness means running infrastructure. It means signing blocks. Keeping the chain smooth. It means helping this whole beautiful mess of code and community run like a Swiss watch — assuming the watch sometimes gets drunk and throws a hardfork party every couple years.
What Does @botlord Bring To The Table?
💪 Stability: my server’s uptime makes Swiss banks look flaky.
🧠 Brains: my background in IT and data engineering means I understand Hive under the hood. Like… "I wrote the frickin’ service manual" level.
🤖 Automation Magic: The bots you love? Yeah, they’re mine. Now imagine what that level of automation does with Witness duties.
🧍♂️ Humility with swagger: Look, I know I’m not the biggest whale in the pool. But I am the shark with the laser beams attached to his head.
And that means I’m building, contributing, fixing, tweaking, and showing up for the long haul.
But Does Hive Really Need Another Witness?
Hell yes.
We don’t need just anyone though. We need reliable, technically-savvy, community-minded people who actually walk the walk. People who know the difference between decentralization theater and the real deal. People who don’t just stake HIVE and chill, but who build and protect the playground we’re all running around on.
I’m not doing this for fame. Or for the five people who will now try to DM me about broken nodes. I’m doing it because Hive deserves it. Because the chain needs strong, smart, slightly sarcastic folks to run it.
Also… because my ego whispered: “You could totally run a top 50 Witness node.” I told it: “Hold my beer.”
So Now What?
Now you vote.
I’m not gonna sugarcoat it. I want your vote. I want your mom’s vote. I want your dog’s vote if it’s got a Ledger.
