Concerns about Downvotes on Hive
Hello community
We wanted to bring up a serious issue that's been affecting the Hive community for a long time. We've noticed a pattern of unfair downvotes that's not only discouraging but also hindering the growth of our platform DOWNVOTING GOOD CONTENT IS BAD.
The Problem
We believe that some users are taking advantage of the system, using downvotes to suppress others and promote their own interests and friends. This not only creates a toxic environment but also leads to a lack of trust and engagement within the community.
The Buildawhale Scam Farm
We've specifically exposed the Buildawhale scam farm, which has been using downvotes to silence others farming Hive with, 100's if not 1000's of alt accounts and promote their own agenda. Despite our efforts to bring this to light, nothing has been done to address the issue.
A Question
We can't help but wonder: does the Buildawhale scam farm own a significant portion of Hive? Why has nothing been done to stop their abusive behaviour?

The Hive community has been plagued by a surge of spam accounts and malicious behavior, particularly from a prominent whale that's been downvoting quality content and engaging in self-voting. This individual's actions have had a devastating impact on the community, driving users away and creating a toxic atmosphere.
We believe that it's time for change. The power to shape the Hive community should lie in the hands of all users, not a select few who use their influence to manipulate and exploit others. We need to address the issue of bad downvotes and demand accountability from those who wield their power for personal gain.
Here are some proposed solutions:
- Implement a requirement that all users must comment on a post before they're allowed to downvote it
- Revoke the whale's Hive power delegation from Buildawhale and Usainvote accounts
- Hold those responsible for downvoting quality contributions accountable for their actions
We're calling on the community to unite and demand the changes we deserve. Let's reclaim control over our blockchain and nurture a community that's supportive, respectful, and empowering for all Hivers.
