Introduction.
I was going to go another way this time for #threetunetuesday, maybe some crooners, or folk songs. And then @wesphilbin and @thekittygirl started talking about Rush and @taradraz1 spoke about Porcupine Tree and my mind got all wrapped up in that music :D
Open Car
I LOVE this song. I heard it first time when @steevc covered it for some Six String Bliss challenge. His page on how he made the cover, and the link to his cover is at his old blog page - https://studiospoon.blogspot.com/2013/01/driving-around.html
I just loved how the song flowed, how it was frantic in parts and peaceful in others. And for a song with so many notes it felt like it had a lot of space to breathe. Later heard the original Open Car by Porcupine Tree, and it has been a favorite ever since. Even tried to learn the bass part on it.
Xanadu
Next is a standard of the genre. Xanadu by Rush. I have to apologize that I cannot speak for it as I am also going to listen to it for the first time as I write this :) But I trust the people who say this absolutely rocks!!!
Shine on you Crazy Diamond
For my last pick for the day I have to go with this one. I know many aficionados are tired of everyone selecting this, or Time, or Comfortably Numb, or Another Brick in The Wall. But the songs are great. And while I do love my Astronomy Domine and Gnome and other songs Shine on you Crazy Diamond is the cassette I kept listening to multiple times trying to make out all the different instruments and just spacing out listening to the song. It introduced me to listening to songs just for the music. Hope you enjoy it too.
