This week has been bit of a bitter-sweet week for us at carbonZERO. The sweet part is that we expanded and got into the active set for AssetMantle thanks to a team delegation. Our REStake app is working for $MNTL so you can auto-compound your stake with us! With $MNTL, we will be sending 10% of the commissions to the carbonZERO DAO for donations. We were also welcomed by the team in their community meeting which we got to introduce ourselves. Another sweet spot for the week is we were able to plant over 1300 trees with Ecologi!
The bitter part is that we have dropped out of the JUNO active set and we are struggling hard to be able to get back in. The bottom has been very competitive and it is getting very expensive to stay in. We are not giving up just yet, but this is going to reset the snapshot clock for the $cZERO token distribution to JUNO holders. If we cannot get back into the active set at all, we will not be doing JUNO delegator distribution. The quicker we can get back in the active set, the more trees we can plant!
DAO Numbers
We continue to be blown away with the DAO numbers that we get to donate! This week, $441.54 USDC were transferred to 41.374321 ATOM in Kraken and then sent out to fiat to donate. This figure ended up being $437.28 USD that was donated after exchange fees.
This represents 20% of our commissions. The other 10% we are using as a delegator rebate for the first month, then beyond that we will be using that 10% for more donations! We will be looking to our community to help us figure out how to donate these additional funds!
We are changing this up due to allot of the community feedback and other discussions on various Twitter Spaces. Rebates are seen by many as circumventing the minimum commission that is in place to help protect the network in various ways as well as a possible centralization issue.
Another issue is that direct kickbacks can also be looked at as securities territory in the US and we just do not want to deal with that regulatory chaos. So that additional 10% in future months will be put to more ecological causes.
With that being said, let's review the current week's numbers:
Trees Planted
This week we were able to donate 1325 to one of the many projects that we support with Ecologi. Most of this coming from the $EVMOS commissions! Keep it up everyone!
EVMOS Delegator Token Distribution
This week's focus is to continue the background work for the EVMOS token distribution. This is going to most likely consist of an NFT drop to your Ethereum address that is connected to your EVMOS address you delegate with. This NFT will allow you to unlock a form where you can enter your EVMOS address and your correct JUNO address so we can send your tokens. This page will be built here on our site.
Much of this is going to be a manual process on our end. We are trying to make it as easy as possible for you. The reason we are doing things this way is EVMOS addresses are derived from the EVM, or Ethereum address and doesn't pull up your proper JUNO address like we could if we were going from say your Cosmos address to your JUNO address or any other IBC chain. So it will be more of a claim drop. We may actually use an Ethereum testnet like the Rinkeby testnet to save gas. The NFT allows us to know you are one of our delegators and not someone trying to abuse the system.
Because EVMOS is special in this way, it is taking us a bit of extra work for this drop. Any other chain will not be an issue in the future. We will be able to easily get your correct corresponding JUNO address from other chains.
