I'm pretty excited because I just bought a new NFT for my favorite game and it has my favorite feature.
Remember, I'm the self-proclaimed world's worst gamer because I am terrible at all games. My favorite mindless play to earn game is Alienships but I don't understand anything about it lol.
It's an old flash-style space invaders type clone and you earn credits to claim NFTs with. (I think) The problem with learning the game is the lack of easy tutorials for newbies (Content idea folks).
If there were some tutorials other than the FAQs on the site I'd like the game better but over time I have become an expert at shooting down enemy ships and earning credits. My weakness is not knowing what to do with my credits, claiming the right NFTs and maximizing my financial games. But all that exists. Just not for me lol.
But something within the game revealed itself to my feeble mind. There were NFTs to earn that were backed by wax. That means that the NFTs are burnable and when burned, wax is retrieved. Read that line again. And then again.
It's my favorite thing about wax and now my favorite thing about Alienships. Accumulating some NFTs through gameplay and knowing that they will always be backed by wax in case I don't want them anymore.
That's way different than selling them. Burning NFTs backed by wax requires no buyer to get the backed amount.
Now, as noted above, I'm pretty bad at gameplay and have yet to figure out how to earn these backed NFTs through the game but I bought the above NFT on Atomic for 1.03 wax and it is backed by 1 wax. That means I can burn it now for 1 wax if I want or any time in the future. If the price of wax goes up and I don't want or need the NFT anymore, I'll burn for profit.
I realize that 1 wax isn't great when I bought it for 1.03 wax but it is the fact that I can earn wax through playing my favorite game.
My hope is to learn to earn these type of rewards in game but I'll also buy during dips because I believe in Wax. I'll probably get sick of the game in a few months (but there is a lot of development going on) and I'm pretty stoked that I won't get stuck with my NFTs.
If you are looking for Gaming content to write on Hive I would suggest getting to know Alienship and writing step-by-step tutorials for newbs. I know the devs would appreciate it and perhaps we could pull in some new eyeballs onto Hive. Win/Win!
