Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I'm celebrating something fun! A full year of posting every single day!

Daily Posting Anniversary: What I've Learned
@cmplxty/throwback-skating-pics
That was the post that started me off my daily posting journey. I had attempted it a few times prior to that but failed. I think the reason I failed was a few but one of the important ones is that I didn't have my posts scheduled the way I do now!
I know some might be expecting profound knowledge that I have founded upon but I think what I've learned is modest but important for me! I'll be focusing on two of the most important parts of what I've learned, commitment and consistency.
Commitment
One of the things that I've gotten better at is trying to make a commitment to certain things. I have obvious commitments to common things such as work, my wife and other things but I don't have a lot of commitment to other things that I used to such as skateboarding and doing fun things.
I enjoy Hive and posting, interacting and spending time on here but what I didn't have a commitment to was posting daily until I decided one day to try and give it a commitment! I had been trying to get a week straight streak going for a while back when I officially started this but failed for one reason or another. What I made important for me was to schedule at least one or two posts ahead of time!
The post scheduling is what really allowed me to take off with posting daily. I have certainly had times where I didn't meet my post scheduling commitment but I did manage to scrape through and get a post scheduled daily for the last 365 days! I would like to think that a very low percentage of those posts, hopefully in the single digits, one would consider a "shit-post"
Consistency
The other thing that I had to try to focus on is to get to some level of consistency. My consistency is still improving but one of the things that I really learned from this all is to try and make sure that I'm consistent in a few things. One of the definite things that I'm improving upon, particularly of late, is to make sure that I engage with my audience! Anyone who visits one of my posts I make sure to reply to them for sure but I also have made it a recent point in the past few months to make sure I visit their blog and comment on at least one of their posts if they've taken the time to look at and comment on my post. I don't typically do this for those "nice post" type people but I guess I would look to improve on that, to hopefully change their perspective and try to improve upon their engagement.
Lately I am getting better at consistently getting a weeks worth of posts scheduled out there and that has really helped me in my goal of continuing to post daily. There are plenty of opportunities for me to improve on things but one thing I have enjoyed is being able to manage to get a weeks worth of posts out there. It helps relieve some personal stress that I have and I hope to be able to balance things out in life so that I can continue that practice!
You?
Have you tried to post daily for a period of time? Has it gone well? What have been important takeaways for you in this endeavor?
