Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using the blockchain technology. Every user will need cards to play the game, these cards or assets are NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) which can be traded. These cards is used to play against other players. Now every card will have the unique ability and they are divided between Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. The more the ability, the more it can help you to win the games and the more expensive it becomes.
The last season was somewhat ok, not that great though. But using the Glint Rewards was great. I didn't won a lot of games last season. Now I constantly use my Glint rewards to buy cards. It's not that we get very good cards from the Glint rewards but still it is good to play with it. I have used a lot of Glint rewards card to play in the game and win a lot. Now the problem with Glint rewards is that you get limited variety of card. Then when you buy more cards from the Glint rewards, you will get same cards multiple times.
So now I am trying to only buy the Legendary Cards from the Glint. So like the last week I have also bought a Legenrdary card and I was able to get a Gold Legendary Card which was great. I got Sergeant Grauzral as a Gold Legendary card. Now it is different than what I had and also it was a gold card so it was a win-win situation for me. And that's why I am trying to restrict myself in only Legendary as of now and might be I can get similar cards in future too.
So it was about the last season. And similarly from this season we are getting one more format to play with and that is Frontier. You can only use the Foundation cards to play in this format.
You remember that previously as a player you can play with certain cards in any format. Now Splinterlands have stopped it because of rewards abuse. And now you can earn Foundation cards by completing the Campaign and thus you can use those cards ti play in the Fronteir format. You have to win 5 games to get a daily rewards. This is a great way for new players to get to know about the game and also play and more games to get rewards.
The energy in Fronteir format is different and doesn't combine with Modern Format. So you can play both the format if yoh have the cards. I have completed my campaigns and I do have the foundation cards. So I have played in the Fronteir format. The thing is, it can get tricky. Everyone have the same set of cards and thus how you apply is the question. The good thing about this is you know that the other opponent has the same set if cards and thus you have to outsmart them to play little different.
As a long time player you cab actually able to use the perfect stratgy, and that's why it is a great way for new players yo learn the startegy. When they play in normal format, they might get opponents with good cards and thus they will think that you can win using the good cards only. But in this format you can actually know why you have lost even though you have the same set of cards. And thus exposure will be great for playing other format too.
If you are a experienced played and wanted to try other format, you can check the Fronteir Format. But before that complete the Campaign and get the foundation cards and thus start playing the format.
