The possible launch of a new token called POL to replace Matic seems to have been well received by the market.
Polygon Labs is evaluating launching a new token that is native to all networks in its ecosystem.
POL will be “the next-generation native token, designed to secure, align, and grow the Polygon ecosystem,” the organization says.

Functions of the new POL token
The Polygon organization ensures that the new token will present "multiple important benefits" for its ecosystem.
Polygon zkEVM, the next big innovation for Ethereum
Ecosystem security. A highly decentralized group of PoS (Proof of Stake) validators can bring security, resiliency, and credible neutrality to every Polygon chain. Validators have incentives to join the pool and secure as many strings as possible.
Infinite scalability. POL can support the exponential growth of the Polygon ecosystem and eventual mainstream adoption. It allows the validator pool to scale to support thousands of Polygon strings without sacrificing security.
Support to the ecosystem. The Polygon ecosystem and the industry as a whole are still in the early stages and will require continued support in the coming years. POL can offer a sustainable and compliant mechanism for these activities.
No friction. Blockchain protocols often require both users and developers to hold, stake, or consume their native tokens in order to use the network. This causes friction and degrades the user and developer experience. POL is designed in a way that it does not introduce such friction.
Community property. With decentralization as its core value, Polygon is meant to be governed by its community. POL must be enabled to have governance rights, i.e. be used in governance frameworks
" POL is the 3rd generation of native assets - a hyper-productive token. Holders can become validators and receive rewards, but with two major enhancements: Validators can validate MULTIPLE CHAINS. Chain can offer MULTIPLE ROLES (and corresponding rewards) to the validators." Polygon wrote in another tweet
In turn, the POL token is enabled to provide governance rights.
"Polygon advises that MATIC and POL cannot coexist; POL can only replace MATIC. To exchange one asset for another, MATIC will need to be sent to the update smart contract, which will automatically return the equivalent amount of POL.
Token holders would be given sufficient time to refresh the tokens, for example 4 years or more. If community consensus is gathered in support of this proposal, the migration could begin in a few months."
The organization highlights that POL can support the "exponential growth of the Polygon ecosystem and eventual widespread adoption."
The price of Matic
The hype around Polygon 2.0 has continued to be beneficial to the Polygon network as a whole. As the release of Polygon 2.0 approaches, the MATIC token has started to rise.

If we analyze the price of Matic Breaks upwards, downtrend line, 5 months of Formation.
The break was on good volume, reaching 89 cents per Matic.
In this upward movement, it breaks the resistance of 84 cents, serving today as support at the time of writing this post.
Next resistances of the price to the rise 0.95 and 1 dollar.
It is expected that the Matic price will stabilize in the next few days, to form a range in the next few weeks.

A su vez, el token POL está habilitado para brindar derechos de gobernanza.
"Polygon advierte que MATIC y POL no pueden coexistir; POL solo puede reemplazar a MATIC. Para cambiar un activo por otro, se deberá enviar MATIC al contrato inteligente de actualización, que devolverá automáticamente la cantidad equivalente de POL.
A los poseedores de tokens se les daría tiempo suficiente para actualizar los tokens, por ejemplo, 4 años o más. Si se reúne el consenso de la comunidad en apoyo de esta propuesta, la migración podría comenzar en unos meses."
La organización destaca que POL puede respaldar el “crecimiento exponencial del ecosistema Polygon y la eventual adopción generalizada”.
El precio de Matic
La expectación en torno a Polygon 2.0 ha seguido siendo beneficiosa para la red Polygon en general. A medida que se acerca el lanzamiento de Polygon 2.0, el token MATIC ha comenzado a subir.

Si analizamos el precio de Matic Rompe al alza, linea de tendencia bajista, de 5 meses de Formacion.
El rompimiento fue con buen volumen, alcanzando los 89 centavos por Matic.
En este movimiento al alza rompe la resistencia de los 84 centavos, sirviendo hoy como soporte al momento de hacer este post.
Proximos resistencias del precio al alza 0.95 y 1 dolar.
Es de esperar que el precio de Matic se estabilice en las proximos dias, para formar un rango en las proximas semanas
