Sweatcoin is a phone app (for android and iOS) that counts your steps and gives you rewards in Sweatcoins that can be redeemed for certain physical products, discount codes, coupon codes, online courses, it can even be donated to charity. I've been using Sweatcoin for over 2 years and earned a bit over 3000 sweatcoins.
The app simply tracks your steps every day and pays you 1 sweatcoin for every 1000 steps you make. What I really like is that even if you only make 10 steps you still get 0.01 sweatcoins. So that you are not obligated to round up the step amount to 1000 for each sweatcoin. The best thing about this app is the fact that it is 100% passive once you set it up. All you need to do to earn is set your phone settings in a way that it allows Sweatcoin app to track your steps and keep your phone with you during the day as you go for a walk or for a run. It doesn't need to be an intentional walk, just for the sake of earning but passive, like a walk from the parking lot to the grocery store. Every little bit counts and adds up.
There are a few more methods to earn sweatcoins but they aren't passive, more on that later.
What I want to write about today is the launch of a new cryptocurrency SWEAT.

So basically they are motivating us to walk/run more to take care of our own health and earn crypto while doing it. That is amazing in my opinion.
My short term goal right now is to maximize my sweatcoin earnings until the launch of SWEAT to take advantage of the one-time sweatcoin to SWEAT conversion. I will do that with the non-passive or semi-passive methods that the app offers.
One is viewing ads (up to 3 per day) and pays a random amount for every ad.
Second one is daily 2x boost. It works like this, once per day you can activate 2x boost (best before a walk or a run) and it will double all the steps that you make in the next 20 minutes. It is a great way to boost your rewards, if you don't forget about it like I usually do :')
And the third method is the referral rewards also known as add a friend. This one is my least favorite, and also the least rewarding unless you have a ton of followers who would be interested in signing up via your referral link. I say that because you receive 5 sweatcoins for each friend that singes up via your link, but I earn more than that amount every day buy simply walking, not counting the 2x boost and ad bonuses. That being said, every little bit helps so if you are not already a user and would like to start using Sweatcoin to earn free crypto, I urge you to sign up using the link at the bottom of the post. :) It honestly doesn't help much but I would greatly appreciate it anyway.
Final thoughts,
The value of SWEAT is unknown for the time being and it is anyone's guess what it will be. It could be so small that it won't be worth the users time to use the app, though I would still use it since it can be 100% passive. I don't think the value of SWEAT will be very high (at least at the beginning) and I also don't think it will be so low to be essentially worthless. I believe in the project and have high hopes for it.
