I think everyone has to have some motivation factor or goal on Leo if they are going to be successful growing their account. On Hive I have set goals in order to make me consistent and there is no procrastination skipping days. Trust me there have been times when you want to say F it for tonight, but just can't.
I think the motivation behind the growth is not just the account value, but what you are able to offer everyone as your vote value contributing to everyones growth around you. That has always been where my head is as this is a long term plan and not something here today and gone tomorrow type attitude. If you have been on Hive for 3 years already I think it tells you quite possibly you are here to your dying days. God help us all if that is the case as this could be truer than we all thought.
My carrot is the vote value and how I judge my growth and it seems growing on Leo is rather tricky and hard at the same time. I say tricky as your vote value is always under attack due to everyone staking. If you slow down you will see the vote value slowly being eroded away which forces you to keep doing more and more.
The target I have set myself is a lowly 1 Leo vote value and when I started this my vote value was just under 0.1 for 1000 Leo staked so for every 100 Leo you would expect another 0.01 added in vote value. That is not the case as just in the last 6 weeks it has become another 7% harder to grow. Sorry I work in figures as that is what makes sense to me. Those that have just staked for curation are now losing over 1% per week in vote value. This is good as it tells us that Leo is being distributed and staked making it harder to maintain voting levels we once had or didn't have.
I remember something similar on the sports tribe as I needed to stake 100 000 sports every day just to maintain parity with vote values. The same thing is happening on Leo even though I have managed to increase the vote to a whopping 0.171 now and need another 9200 staked to have the prized 1 vote Leo. The original target of 10 000 Leo just got bigger and will just keep changing monthly which is not so terrible as it is like a donkey and a carrot. Over time your stake will grow along with vote value so a win win without worrying about how much you are worth.
Leo is still a very young token and price doesn't come into my thinking as only if you are thinking of selling would it bug you. Staking and earning more Leo from curating and posting trying to get closer to my carrot is the only objective right now and expect this could take a good year to achieve depending on so many factors which we can't control. Project Blank could wreck my carrot plan as a sudden influx of new users staking could push vote values down considerably so the 1 Leo vote may be years off yet. That is good though as that means we have tons more users so a win win whatever happens.
