For some reason trying to post tonight using the Leofinance front end it kept returning errors.
I have to admit I am no fan of AI due to the impact it will have on the human race. There will be many positives, but there will also be so many negatives so it is not all good news.
Yesterday Tarazkp posted about AI and the impact this will have on the job market as it will be significant. I was reading up with one article by the World Economic Forum (our friends) that by 2025 75 million jobs would have been lost, but replaced by 130 million. Right so why do I not believe them as this sounds too good to be true. According to them AI will increase job prospects and I don't have the same positive outlook.
For those that haven't read @tarazkp's post here is the link Leave Without Pay
The fact is millions are going to lose their jobs over the next decade and will have no choice but to reskill in order to stay earning. The issue I have is what if you don't have the necessary skills to learn new skills or you are over 50 and are new unemployed. A big difference if you are in your twenties and can learn a new skill as it will be a sink or swim scenario for many.
This brings me onto the topic of the post and where a place like Hive can play a pivotal role for those that have suddenly become unemployed. Those of us that are here already and established earning Hive daily have a big advantage over those still yet to arrive.
We all know what is possible on Hive and have the knowledge to earn no matter what due to the stake we have. Hive could be classed as a new skill as it is not that easy to get to grips with and why it takes time to understand and master.
I have been on Hive for over 5 years and I am still learning even though the first 6 months was crucial to understanding the eco system and how it works. The hope I have and for everyone else on here is that within the next 5 years it wont matter that much how AI changes the work place as we will already have another income stream.
I knew the day I arrived on Hive how different this place was as it does stretch the imagination and is a serious head spinner. Who would have thought that this could be such a game changer when you sign up and join not knowing where the world is heading. A stroke of luck or a stroke of genius is how I see this now as Hive and other sites will play a crucial role in the futures of so many.
Having stake and growing your stake may be more crucial than you might think and this could be the ticket or one of the tickets guaranteeing you the freedom to be different from all the rest in the future. With so much uncertainty around this is not a risk I am prepared to take and why the Hive stake needs to increase.
AI is already displacing jobs in certain working environments and this is only going to gradually increase over the next decade. I somehow don't or cannot see 75 million jobs being lost by 2025 as I do think it will take slightly longer but those numbers are very real. The idea that AI is going to double the job prospects I find laughable as companies will be looking at reducing their head counts and not increasing them.
There has been discussions and talks about a fixed income in South Africa for those unemployed with the aim of increasing this from R350 ($19) to R1000 ($55) monthly which is not a livable wage and will have you under the bread line basically living in poverty. This is by no means a universal basic income and not something I tend to be part of as suddenly the CBDC's and all the controls that we have been hearing about are ringing loud in my ears. The alarm signals are real and should be a concern to everyone as this is just the beginning.
