The beauty about the Ragnarok snapshot back on January 6th 2022 is it gave me a reference point for growth. Unless you track your growth by keeping records which I don't then you will struggle with knowing your exact growth over a long period of time unless you have a reference point.
I know the snapshot taken on the 6th January 2022 my account had 63 530 Hive Power because that is how many Larynx Power I received. This Hive power took me 2 years short of 4 years to achieve so a total of 46 months. Tonight my wallet will tick over to 127 K HP so it has basically doubled taking 32 months which is 14 months quicker than the first 63 500 HP.
We know the growth process speeds up over time because the compounding takes over with your stake generating more rewards via the APR and curation. This being achieved today tells me that the growth has sped up by around 30% which is great knowledge to know and take on board.
When you have a small wallet size it is fairly easy to double or triple, but when you have a sizeable stake it is much harder to judge the exact pace of the growth taking place. This is why I use the HIVE vote value as a growth indicator instead of the obvious one being the stake.
There is no real difference to how I think from when I first started out and know being active and consistent is the key to growing on HIVE or any other crypto investment. Missing days and not being active is not something I would ever consider as firstly I enjoy being active on HIVE and being part of this great community.
What will be interesting is to see how quickly I can unlock the next 63 500 HP when I hopefully reach 190K. Will this be achieved 30% quicker which would roughly be in 24 months time. I don't know the exact time frame and what is possible but I know it should be slightly faster each time due to the stake earning more stake.
What I forgot to mention was that when HIVE moved blockchains there was a bonus of around 18K HP having sold the previous blockchain stake so the growth can be slightly misleading and why judging your growth can not be an exact science. There was no airdrops in the second 63 500 HP so that is more of a guide being 32 months and something I will monitor moving forward.
Any growth is good growth so this is more of an interesting insight into the time frames involved as this is over many years having been involved for 6 years and 6 months already. I think the time line is what amazes myself because when you start out you have no idea you will be doing this many years later and is kind of crazy to think there are many more years to come.
