Bitcoin will halve in a few hours from now, it means that BTC will going to be scarce in the process, it will now be hard for miners to earn it and with the demand never going down but up we could see that in the near future the appreciation in value for BTC will be greater than the current prices.
It is predicted that there will be a sell-off after the halving and these are people who bought at these relatively high prices in anticipation of others that will sell off and brings the prices down so that they can buy more cheaper than they sold.
Then it is also predicted that the price will rise slowly after the halving until we come-up to in a much greater value as anticipated for BTC. But nothing is certain, the rise in value might not get achieve in the timeframe that we expect which means that it may take much time before BTC gets into the 50-100K range so it still remains to be seen.
For me I think the factor here is time but certainly BTC's value will rise because of the scarcity brought by the halvings. So it is just a good investment to own some BTC, it can be your social security and financial security in one especially in the years that you cannot work anymore and that you will just relay on the BTC savings that you put aside while you are still able to earn.
After the halving there will some manipulations still, ups and downs in the prices, maybe a flash crash or two, major rallies, mini-rallies, or whatever price actions but in the long-term the only way for BTC to go is up so we just have to wait until it goes to a price point that is comfortable for us to finally cash out and enjoy our profits.
