Hello Hivers!
How's your holiday going?
In my case, it's been great so far because it's a much-needed break from my busy work life. I've been loaded with so many tasks in the past few weeks that it almost makes me want to give up my job. But of course, whenever the thought of bills comes to mind I snap back to the thought that I needed so I have to keep working for now.
And then another thought come into play, I long for the future where my activity and investment here in Hive will earn me enough money to pay for my simple lifestyle. In my mind, Hive could be one of the turning points of my life. It could be a good source of income in the future in a similar manner to how the content creators of Youtube or Reddit make a living through their posting activities on those platforms. This is the future of social media, to monetize content and to facilitate side hustles through the platform.
Hive has the fundamentals to support this kind of content monetization. And the cool thing about it is that you don't even need an initial investment to make it happen. All you need is good content that people would be encouraged to upvote it.
Although it's not perfect yet, the Communities have become part of the solution when it comes to content discovery. The curation in Communities is based on a specific topic that they want people to post in their feeds. It simplifies the whole platform because we don't have to scour a single feed just to find a post about DIY, finance, or art; we just have to go to a specific Community that presents a specific topic that you are looking for.
It's a friendly platform, but not for those who have bad intentions and bad habits.
If you are a real person with a real intention to share your content and earn from it then Hive is definitely for you. There's a high chance that you will earn money. It may or may not be a big payout right away but there's a chance that you will more than what your years of participation in Youtube or Reddit will get you.
Here in Hive, you may earn $0.10 or $1 on your first post and even on succeeding posts for a month or a year until you become trusted and then more people will support you with more earnings under your name. While on Youtube or Reddit, you may only earn $0.10 or $1 after many months or a few months until you become famous and start to earn a big sum of payout. If you don't have enough capital and motivation to support your content creation in those years then you may end up getting dried up and lose your faith in the platform.
Hive, in its current state, provides you with a higher chance of earning because it isn't too saturated with content creators yet. It's currently at a developing stage where your chance of getting attention from curators is still achievable within a day or a week or worse within a month. That's so much better when compared to mainstream platforms like Youtube or Reddit.
Even so, there are ongoing developments that will mitigate or could provide a good solution to the content discovery issue. The Community is doing its part in assisting the curators in managing their curation works. For now, it's working as designed but it will soon be tested for efficiency by the time the masses join the platform and try to find their way into the ecosystem.
