My 65th Instacart paycheck 💸 🛒

This week was laughable. This entire month has me considering whether or not I will continue spending my time attempting to work through Instacart. Let's see how bad earnings were this week.

Monday, April 15th

Tuesday, April 16th

No work

Wednesday, April 17th

Wednesday was dead as can be. I didn't have any orders all morning or afternoon. I was about to turn the app offline and give up for the day right as I got an order that was worth doing. It was less than 10 items and less than a mile from the store. Good enough for me.

I made about $37.83/hr on this day.

The one order may have not given me much in terms of earnings, but it beats having another $0 day.

Thursday, April 18th

Much like Wednesday, Thursday was a joke. It's crazy that I was online for almost 10 hours straight and got one measly order all day long. I'm sorry, but I'm not leaving my house to go shop for somebody's big order and then drive several miles to their house, only to get $10. That's absurd. I will continue to wait for orders that are worth doing.

I made about $57.03/hr on this day.

The only person I shopped for commented to me as I delivered and said that I was by far the fastest shopper in my area. She loves it when she gets me. I told her thanks, but deep down it didn't change the fact that Instacart has been giving all of the orders to other people and leaving me out to dry.

Friday, April 19th

Wow! This must be the week where the Instacart algorithm has no respect for me whatsoever. This is the third day in a row that I was not offered anything worthwhile until after 5 pm. Wed/Thurs/Fri have all been pretty much identical this week.

I made about $43.33/hr on this day.

It's becoming more and more obvious that Instcart doesn't care about its best shoppers. I have been grinding daily for over a year now, but all of a sudden they don't want me to work anymore. I see how it is.

Saturday, April 20th

As you probably would have guessed by how the rest of this week and last has gone, Saturday offered me little to nothing. The massive drop-off of orders for me feels like an exodus of sorts. Instacart isn't what it was.

I made about $49.36/hr on this day.

The hourly rate may sound great, and I agree with it. It's just I've had less than 2 hours total of work through this week so far. It's as if I've been laid off, except Instacart isn't transparent about things at all and has me on edge wondering if they are magically going to start showing me orders again. Highly doubtful from my perspective.

Sunday, April 21st

I didn't have much hope for Sunday. This week as been atrocious and I assumed Sunday was going to be more of the same. It was, although slightly better than every other day this week.

I made about $34.36/hr on this day.

The desperation was real. I was accepting the most average orders. As long as they were terrible, I was down. This only lasted until a little after 1 pm. Then things dried up and I had things to do Sunday evening and had to go offline.

End of week hours and pay 🤑

My weekly pay was close to $150 and I barely worked only 3.5 hours.

I made about $41.25/hr on average this past week.

Doing it again next week 👀

As I mentioned at the beginning of this blog, Instacart isn't sustainable anymore. I doubt I will be doing this much longer. It was good while it lasted, but damn things just haven't been what they used to be.
