OpenAI made the world change which was barely recovering from the most strongest natural test of pandemic. And since it's launch it has managed to change a lot of dynamics at jobs, workplace and even at govt level.
Take an example of the tools that are coming out since last year. Windsurf and cursor. Both those tools started as simple tools for auto completition and tabs for recommendation, references etc. They started as a tool to make developer life easier.
As with each test it managed to get few steps ahead with the developer productivity. Now they are allowing the AI agents to create apps with just prompts. And they also added rules system so that just by adding documentation they can let a solo developer create entire apps.
This would not only reduce the amount of workers it takes to develop code, projects and in turn whole infrastructure but it would buy more time for the people who build workflows. In short this would change the industries around the world.
There are two strong tools in the market: Windsurf and Cursor.
Both of these tools offer things similar to the userbase. Like number of queries they can send to AI per month. Usually with 500 queries offered by these tools you can create 1 app in depth like too big or small apps and web sites in more than 10 or so numbers.
Each of those tools offer variety of the LLM models which you can use for different purpose and get your work done. Each one of them have their own use case and the long line up of builds. Which would make using such tools easier in the grand scheme.
Now let's talk about why you should vibe code? There are many reasons for this. We are in 2025 and not learning AI would only throw you back 20 years. And people around you would step in and go ahead. Even for as little as using the tools at bank, apps and places where AI would reduce your burden.
How? Because AI is being implemented in everything. If you try to cross road while the light is red you would be captured by AI in the camera and then the ticket will come at your account from the road safety dept. And same would happen for many things on govt level soon.
What does that have to do with you learning to vibe code? You would be able to make similar small tools for yourself if you learn to code. You would benefit from the tools like windsurf and cursor. You can use those tools and make quick prototypes too. So those tools are handy long term as well.
Currently I am making Expo mobile app which would be deployable on Google play and Apple.
You can vibe code your way to the app that can hit the Google play and Apple stores. And who knows that could even make you money? I am still struggling on marketing part but not all can struggle like me and may hit the jackpot with downloads and purchases? You never know.
Learning to vibe code is a new skill. It's like learning to instruct Alexa. So those who are of this generation would benefit and so do the oldies who are going to build on this skill in upcoming future.
In short, learn vibe coding, it would do your work faster, if not it can make money too!
