Der Bitcoin-Kurs ist in dieser Woche auf über 118.000 US-Dollar gestiegen, damit ist ein BTC so teuer wie nie zuvor. Was sind die Gründe für die Kursstärke und wie könnte es weitergehen? Bitcoin-Experte Roman Reher ordnet die aktuelle Marktlage ein.
Bitcoin konnte in dieser Woche das vorherige Hoch von 112.000 US-Dollar, das die bedeutendste Kryptowährung im Mai gesetzt hat, nachhaltig übersteigen. Der Kurs schoss wenig später sogar über die Marke von 118.000 US-Dollar. Wenn Bitcoin ein neues Allzeithoch erreicht, dann steigt der Preis meist sehr schnell weiter. Dies war so auch oft in der Vergangenheit zu beobachten.
Der Kurs steht jetzt – zumindest im US-Dollar gemessen – mehr als doppelt so hoch wie vor zwölf Monaten. Und wer zum Tief des vergangenen Bärenmarktes im Jahr 2022 – bei einem Kurs von 15.500 US-Dollar – einen Bitcoin gekauft hat, der sitzt jetzt auf mehr als 100.000 US-Dollar an Investitionsgewinnen.
Für Euro-Anleger zeichnet sich aber ein etwas anderes Bild, oder?
Das liegt daran, dass der US-Dollar in diesem Jahr gegenüber dem Euro mehr als 10 Prozent verloren hat. Bitcoin hat das bisherige Hoch von knapp 106.000 Euro aus dem Januar dieses Jahres noch nicht überstiegen – trotzdem handelt BTC auch in Euro gemessen wieder in der Sechsstelligkeit und damit mehr als 550 Prozent über dem Bärenmarkttief.
Tatsächlich gibt es dieses Mal keine Meldung, auf die der Ausbruch direkt zurückgeführt werden könnte. Vielmehr ist es so, dass es angesichts der positiven Nachrichtenlage der vergangenen Monate eher verwunderlich ist, dass Bitcoin nicht schon viel früher ein neues Allzeithoch erreicht hat.
Die USA lockern das regulatorische Umfeld für digitale Assets und wollen die „Bitcoin-Supermacht“ sowie die „Krypto-Hauptstadt“ der Welt werden. US-Präsident Donald Trump hat eine strategische Bitcoin-Reserve per Dekret errichtet.
Dass die USA, als relevanteste Volkswirtschaft der Welt, den Markt so sehr unterstützen, führt zu einer weiteren Legitimierung des Bitcoin. Es ist davon auszugehen, dass sich immer weitere Länder für den Sektor öffnen werden. Pakistan hat bereits ebenfalls angekündigt, eine Bitcoin-Reserve ins Leben zu rufen.
Die Kaufnachfrage kommt insbesondere von den mittlerweile mehr als 100 Aktiengesellschaften, die sich Bitcoin auf die Bilanz legen. Strategy (ehemals MicroStrategy), Metaplanet und Co. haben im zweiten Quartal zusammengenommen sage und schreibe 159.107 BTC gekauft, wie Daten vom Vermögensverwalter Bitwise Invest zeigen.
Währenddessen reißen die Zuflüsse in die Bitcoin-Spot-ETFs nicht ab.
Ist mit weiter steigenden Notierungen bei Bitcoin zu rechnen?
Davon ist auszugehen, es steht nämlich eine regelrechte Geldflut bevor.
Dank des vergangene Woche verabschiedeten Steuer- und Ausgabengesetzes – das Trump „Big Beautiful Bill“ nennen ließ – steigt die Schuldengrenze der Vereinigten Staaten um fünf Billionen US-Dollar. Währenddessen wächst der politische Druck auf Jerome Powell, den Chef der Federal Reserve. Trump fordert „Too Late“, wie er Powell nennt, immer wieder auf, die Zinsen zu senken.
Trump pusht neuen Krypto-ETF – mit Solana und XRP
Laut der SEC-Einreichung wäre das neue Produkt von Truth Social hauptsächlich ein Bitcoin-ETF. 70 Prozent der Zuteilung würden auf diesen Vermögenswert entfallen, 15 Prozent auf ETH, 8 Prozent auf SOL, 5 Prozent auf Cronos (CRO) und 2 Prozent auf XRP. Das Unternehmen hat kürzlich versucht, einen gemeinsamen BTC/ETH-ETF zu erstellen, sodass diese Altcoin-Diversifikation stetig zunimmt.
Auf den ersten Blick scheint es seltsam, dass Cronos mit einem Anteil von mehr als doppelt so viel wie XRP eine so prominente Position im ETF einnimmt. Ripple steht in engem Kontakt zum Präsidenten und XRP ist ein deutlich bekannterer Token als CRO.
Allerdings entstand kürzlich Reibung zwischen Trump und Ripple, und Truth Social hat speziell einen Vertrag mit Crypto.com unterzeichnet, um Altcoin-ETFs zu fördern. Wenn man diese beiden Punkte berücksichtigt, erscheint die Aufnahme von Cronos verständlicher.
Außerdem sprang der CRO-Kurs nach den Nachrichten um mehr als 15 Prozent.
In der Zwischenzeit wird der ETF als „Nevada Business Trust” strukturiert. Dabei handelt es sich um eine rechtliche Struktur, die häufig für Investmentfonds verwendet wird. Dies erleichtert die Verwaltung des ETFs und kann dabei helfen, rechtliche und steuerliche Komplikationen im Vergleich zu anderen Unternehmensformen zu reduzieren.
Dem XRP-Kurs gelingt ein Anstieg über 2,80 US-Dollar. Warum nach dem Bitcoin-Allzeithoch nun eine Ripple-Rallye den Krypto-Markt aufrütteln könnte.
Im Moment des Schreibens handelt die drittgrößte Kryptowährung bei 2,81 US-Dollar, ein Kurszuwachs von über 25 Prozent auf Wochensicht. Damit konnte XRP sowohl Bitcoin als auch Ethereum überflügeln, was Krypto-Experten insbesondere auf eine neue Partnerschaft zurückführen: Ripple Labs ernannte BNY Mellon zum Hauptverwahrer des hauseigenen Stablecoins RLUSD.
Die Verabschiedung des GENIUS Act durch den US-Senat könnte für Ripple USD eine neue Ära der Expansion einleiten.
XRP-Boom dank Ripple-Börsengang?
Unterdessen reißen die Spekulationen über einen Börsengang von Ripple nicht ab. Ein Brancheninsider hält es für möglich, dass im Zuge eines IPOs bis zu 30 Milliarden US-Dollar eingesammelt werden könnten. Damit hätte Ripple das Potenzial, selbst Giganten wie Alibaba oder Saudi Aramco zu übertreffen – und womöglich den größten Börsengang der Geschichte zu vollziehen. Wie das Beispiel des Stablecoin-Unternehmens Circle zeigt, könnte ein solcher Schritt eine regelrechte Euphorie in der Branche auslösen....

The Bitcoin price rose to over $118,000 this week, making one BTC more expensive than ever before. What are the reasons for this price strength, and what could happen next? Bitcoin expert Roman Reher assesses the current market situation.
Bitcoin was able to sustainably surpass the previous high of $112,000, which the most important cryptocurrency set in May, this week. Shortly thereafter, the price even shot above the $118,000 mark. When Bitcoin reaches a new all-time high, the price usually continues to rise very quickly. This has often been observed in the past.
The price is now – at least measured in US dollars – more than twice what it was twelve months ago. And anyone who bought a Bitcoin at the low of the last bear market in 2022 – at a price of US$15,500 – is now sitting on more than US$100,000 in investment gains.
For euro investors, however, the picture is somewhat different, isn't it?
That's because the US dollar has lost more than 10 percent against the euro this year. Bitcoin has not yet exceeded its previous high of just under €106,000 from January of this year – yet BTC is trading in six-digit figures again, even measured in euros, and thus more than 550 percent above the bear market low.
In fact, there is no news this time that could be directly attributed to the breakout. Rather, given the positive news of the past few months, it's rather surprising that Bitcoin didn't reach a new all-time high much sooner.
The US is loosening the regulatory environment for digital assets and aims to become the "Bitcoin superpower" and the "crypto capital" of the world. US President Donald Trump has established a strategic Bitcoin reserve by decree.
The fact that the US, as the world's most relevant economy, is so supportive of the market is further legitimizing Bitcoin. It can be assumed that more and more countries will open up to the sector. Pakistan has also already announced that it will establish a Bitcoin reserve.
Demand is coming particularly from the more than 100 public companies that now have Bitcoin on their balance sheets. Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), Metaplanet, and others collectively purchased a whopping 159,107 BTC in the second quarter, according to data from asset manager Bitwise Invest.
Meanwhile, inflows into Bitcoin spot ETFs continue unabated.
Can we expect Bitcoin prices to continue rising?
This is to be expected, as a veritable flood of money is imminent.
Thanks to the tax and spending bill passed last week – which Trump dubbed the "Big Beautiful Bill" – the United States debt ceiling is rising by five trillion US dollars. Meanwhile, political pressure is growing on Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Trump repeatedly calls on "Too Late," as he calls Powell, to lower interest rates.
Trump pushes new crypto ETF – with Solana and XRP
According to the SEC filing, Truth Social's new product would primarily be a Bitcoin ETF. 70 percent of the allocation would be allocated to this asset, 15 percent to ETH, 8 percent to SOL, 5 percent to Cronos (CRO), and 2 percent to XRP. The company recently attempted to create a joint BTC/ETH ETF, so this altcoin diversification is steadily increasing.
At first glance, it seems odd that Cronos, with a stake of more than twice that of XRP, occupies such a prominent position in the ETF. Ripple has close ties to the president, and XRP is a significantly more well-known token than CRO.
However, recent friction arose between Trump and Ripple, and Truth Social signed a deal with Crypto.com specifically to promote altcoin ETFs. Considering these two points, Cronos' inclusion seems more understandable.
Additionally, the CRO price jumped more than 15 percent following the news.
Meanwhile, the ETF will be structured as a "Nevada Business Trust." This is a legal structure commonly used for investment funds. This makes ETF management easier and can help reduce legal and tax complications compared to other corporate structures.

At the time of writing, the third-largest cryptocurrency is tradingThe cryptocurrency traded at $2.81, a price increase of over 25 percent on a weekly basis. This enabled XRP to outperform both Bitcoin and Ethereum, which crypto experts attribute in particular to a new partnership: Ripple Labs appointed BNY Mellon as the primary custodian of its proprietary stablecoin, RLUSD.
The passage of the GENIUS Act by the US Senate could usher in a new era of expansion for Ripple USD.
XRP boom thanks to Ripple IPO?
Meanwhile, speculation about a Ripple IPO continues unabated. An industry insider believes it's possible that an IPO could raise up to $30 billion. This would give Ripple the potential to surpass even giants like Alibaba or Saudi Aramco – and possibly complete the largest IPO in history. As the example of the stablecoin company Circle shows, such a move could trigger real euphoria in the industry....
