Hello @aadamada
Thank you for your thoughts, I will try to address all points.
First of all, I've learned that without a plagiarism check it can't, it can't, because without it the big hiver could just copy good posts from newbies and monetize their work for themselves thanks to their reach. And that would definitely be the end.
I don't think the Hivewatchers people are malicious either. They are just operationally blind and/or overworked or too little controlled.
Their approach may even be correct and successful when it comes to farms or other planned theft of rewards.
What they are pretty bad at is their handling of new users. They treat them just like the criminal professionals, except that the new ones have no idea what's coming.
About your first case
This new user has written an excellent post, from his point of view and the point of view of the 70! Commenters. The post was celebrated, he was invited to various communities, all were full of praise for this excellent post.
Right?
A single comment from a bot said something about plagiarism, and had a few links.
No more.
Not a single statement about necessary adjustments, consequences or even help.
Probably the poster was still busy answering all the praising comments when the downvote avalanche hit them.
A typical case of control by the book, omitted offers of help and stupidly run.
Ultimately, dumb luck for the growth of Hive as well, because it's unlikely that this newbie is a professional content thief.... More likely, however, is that she would have been an asset to Hive.
Your second case
This is how I would like to see the Hive police act and work, exactly like this.
And everyone would be helped.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day
