The main reason why people fail it’s not because their strategies are not working or some people are better than them. Sometimes it is just because they fail to put in the level of effort that has yielded them success for a long period. People stop putting in maximum effort when they believe the outcome will always be the same, they believe they will win regardless and this might be because of two things, they let the success get into their head or they get bored. Just like I said yesterday, boredom is the greatest enemy of a habit it can also be the greatest enemy of success.
It is very hard to keep doing the same thing for a long period and a good example is going to the gym every day. It will get to a point where you already have everything you desired from going to the gym, this is where the challenges come and the struggle to be consistent and as a result of getting bored, sometimes what differentiates those that are successful from those that don’t have a major win is how they can handle their boredom. There will be some times when we are bored and if you let it take over and win, you might never recover, i have seen people like that at the gym who go from missing one day to a week and so on. This happened because of boredom.
People don't talk about it
People don’t talk about boredom, They only talk about your determination and your passion. People make it seem as if successful people have some kind of extra passion which most time is not the truth. The truth is that those people can handle their boredom very well. Boredom happens in every habit that we are trying to create, it always gets to a point where we don’t feel motivated to do the same habit again or we lose our motivation and this is where you need to do it regardless. You have to fall in love with the boredom, when you don’t feel like doing it but you still do it anyway, you can experience real change.
We have a lot of people who subscribe to the gym every month and they’re not even going to the gym, Their monthly subscription to the gym is just a waste and this is because during their first registration, those people are motivated and they show up for a few weeks or few months and after that they get bored and they stop. The truth is that you can never build something great if you don’t fall in love with the boredom because this simply means at the end of the day, you will lose your consistency and when consistency is gone, you will lose productivity too. The greatest enemy of success is not failure but boredom.
