When I started out in the world of investments, they were pushed on a newbie like me with the intention of offering an immediate way to become the next millionaire. When I started in the world of traditional investments with company shares, in the first month I made a return of more than 30%, which gave me the false feeling of becoming rich quickly.
I thought I was very clever in my trading. The illusion of earning 5% a month fell by the wayside and losses of 30 to 50% in a few months occurred. I wasted countless hours in front of the computer making buy and sell trades. My quality of life dropped dramatically and it felt like I was a slave to money.
Investment technique after investment technique was studied until I realized that I had read too many books on investments. Until I learned about Buy and Hold, buying quality assets and holding on to them for several years, and if the assets went bad, the logical thing to do was to get rid of them.
It's the simple thing that works, "rice and beans". When you buy a property, no one keeps an eye on the market prices every day to see if it has risen or fallen in value. You just keep the asset, unless it no longer makes sense to have it as part of your assets. For example, when the property becomes a land for drug trafficking over the years or a slum is built next door.
The same reasoning applies to the purchase of variable income assets, such as companies. You check the quarterly or annual financial statements, if the results remain consistent you keep the company in your portfolio and if the consecutive results start to worsen you consider removing it from your portfolio.
After I started investing with Buy and Hold, I regained my quality of life, my freedom and, curiously, started paying much less attention to the news and following the markets. In conjunction with Buy and Hold, I started putting together investment portfolios using the Asset Allocation technique.
It's important for any investor to diversify their assets - who hasn't heard of not putting all your eggs in one basket? If one basket falls, the other baskets will remain intact. What's more, if the assets in a basket go up a lot in certain periods, the Asset Allocation balances the asset classes.
Asset X has risen by 200% and its defined percentage in the portfolio was 10%. After this great rise in value, the asset now has a weight of around 30% in the portfolio. Part of this 20% surplus will be sold and allocated to asset classes that are further back in the portfolio. In this way, part of the risk is minimized and the investor can surf the market cycles more effectively.
Today, 80% of my investments are concentrated in the traditional market, in Brazilian shares and fixed income. And in the cryptocurrency market I have around 20% of my portfolio allocated to this asset class. When I started investing in this market, I only had 5% of my capital allocated to this asset class and I gradually increased my percentage as I began to gain confidence. Hive, for example, is the project I have the most confidence in, because I follow this protocol every day.
For someone who has been in the cryptocurrency market for a long time, I don't have any allocation in $BTC, but I am exposed to this market through altcoins and projects that I believe will carry them into the next bull market.
However, there are those who say that diversification doesn't make you rich, as it eliminates the risk of losing as well as gaining. What do you think about diversifying assets and what are your strategies in this bear market?

Quando eu iniciei no mundo do investimentos foram empurradas para um novato como eu, com o intuito de oferecer um maneira imediata de me tornar o próximo milionário. Quando comecei no mundo dos investimentos tradicionais com ações de empresas, no primeiro mês, obtive rentabilidade de mais de 30%, isso me deu a falsa sensação de ficar rico rapidamente.
Eu me achava muito inteligente, nas minhas operações. A ilusão de ganhar 5% ao mês ficou para trás e perdas de 30 a 50% em poucos meses ocorreram. Perdia incontáveis horas na frente do computador fazendo operações de compra e venda. Minha qualidade de vida caiu dramatiamente e parecia que eu era escravo do dinheiro.
Técnicas atrás de técnicas de investimentos foram estudadas até que eu havia ter percebido que li vários livros sobre investimentos. Até que conheci o Buy and Hold, comprar ativos de qualidade e segurá-los por vários anos, caso os ativos ficassem ruim a logica era se desfazer desse ativo.
É o simples que funciona, "o arroz com feijão". Quando se compra um imóvel ninguém fica acompanhando o mercado de preços todos os dias, para saber se este valorizou ou desvalorizou. Apenas permanecem com a ativo, a menos que não faça mais sentido tê-lo como parte de seu pratimônio. Por exemplo, quando o Imóvel por infortunil do destino com o passar dos anos a localização torna-se um terríterio para tráfico de dogras ou constroem uma favela ao lado.
O mesmo raciocínio se aplica na compra de ativos de renda variável, como empresas. Verifica-se os balanços trimestrais ou anuais, caso os resultados permaneçam consistentes mantém-se a empresa em carteira e caso os resultados consecutivos começam a piora pensa-se em retirar da carteira.
Depois que comecei a investir com Buy and Hold recuperei minha qualidade de vida, minha liberdade e, curiosamente, passei a dar muito menos atenção às notícias e acompanhar os mercados. Em conjunto com o Buy and Hold comecei a montar carteiras de investimentos com a técnica de Asset Alocation.
Pois, é importante para qualquer investidor diversificar seus ativos, quem nunca ouviu falar para não colocar todos os ovos em uma única cesta? Caso, uma cesta venha a cair as demais cesta estarão intactas. Além disso, caso os ativos de uma cesta venha a subir muito, em determinados períodos, no Asset Allocation é feito um balanceamentos das classes de ativos.
O ativo X subiu 200% e seu percentual definido em carteira era de 10%, após essa grande valorização o ativo passou a ter cerca de 30% de peso na carteira. Parte desse 20% excedentes será vendido e alocado nas classes de ativos que estão mais para traz na carteira. Dessa forma, parte do risco é miminizado e assim o investido pode surfar os ciclos de mercado de forma mais efetiva.
Hoje, 80% dos meus investimentos estão concetrados no mercado tradicionais, em ações brasileiras e renda fixa. E no mercado de criptomoedas tenho cerca de 20% da minha carteira alocada nessa classe de ativos. Quando comecei a investir nesse mercado eu tinha apenas 5% do meu capital alocado nessa classe de ativo e fui aumentando meu percetual quando comecei a ganhar confiança. A Hive, por exemplo, é o projeto que mais tenho confiança, por esta todos os dias acompanhando este protocolo.
Para alguém que esta a bastante tempo no mercado de criptomoedas não tenho nenhuma alocação em $BTC, mas estou exposto a essa mercado atráves de altcoins e projetos que acretido para carregá-los para o próximo bull market.
Porém, há quem diga que diversificar não te deixa rico, pois ela eliminar o risco tanto de perder tanto de ganhar. E você o que acha da diversificação de ativos e quais são suas estratégias nesse bear market?
