There's a certain joy I get when putting my digital "pen" to work creating content as a blogger. Looking at that blank screen, coming up with the first germ of an idea and seeing it develop into something to be shared with the world. One of the things that I love about the blockchain, is that long after I'm gone, my writings will still be available to hopefully inspire others taking their first steps as a writer.
As a kid, I used to go hiking with my buddy, and along the way we'd stop at the towns cemetery. There were usually some inventive and even funny inscriptions on some of the tombstones, and we wondered about the lives of those people who lived so long ago. When my sister tagged along, she suggested we pick wildflowers to place at some of the most neglected graves that never seemed to have any visitors. It felt good to show that their names were being remembered.
Part of what's important as a blogger is what you leave behind. A well-known author once said: "When an old person dies, it's like a library burning." All of that accumulated wisdom is gone in an instant, save for whenever they put pen to paper. Today, we have a worldwide digital diary that's available 24 hours a day, where anyone can share their thoughts, hopes, dreams and wisdom for generations to come.

With websites like archive.org, even defunct pages can be accessible once again. Many will remember the first music video shown on MTV or the first YouTube video. Both of these events signaled the start of a new revolution in how we consume content, and nothing would ever be the same again.

When we moved into an old home when I was a kid, I went exploring in the basement. Stacked near a pile of ancient copies of National Geographic, was a record with a religious hymn called The New "Glory" Song, by Harry Macdonough & The Haydn Quartet.
It was recorded in 1906, and I took it over to my grandmothers house to play it. She had an old-time player, and it was thrilling to hear people from long ago singing together again in harmony. Their voices rang out loud and clear, and I could but wonder if they ever thought anyone would still be listening over a century later.
We are, and it'll be the same with everything you create on the blockchain. Who would have thought that that recent invention at the time, the gramophone "talking machine" would allow Harry Macdonough & The Haydn Quartet, to live on in the new invention known as YouTube, while being immortalized on the blockchain. So get out there and share your thoughts, hopes, dreams and wisdom, and you too could have a brand new audience a century from now. Release that inner voice. You never know who might be listening!
