Powering up
Money's been tighter than usual due to the pandemic and expenses for PPE, but I was able to purchase some HIVE and power up. When the price dipped, I decided it was a great time to pick some up. While not the thousands I'd planned, a few hundred HIVE here and there allowed me to feel good seeing that number rise. My original plan was to hit at least 5K by years end, but with them jacking up the prices of COVID-19 supplies, it looks like I'll have to settle for 3K or so instead. Can't argue with progress and as Casey Neistat once said: KEEP. GOING. UP!
It would be awesome if one day we could have seasonal promotions such as a "Hive Christmas Token Challenge" or a "Hive Black Friday Event" Maybe a discount on Splinterlands packs or some other special promo. These regular events would be a good way of getting some eyeballs over here outside of the possibly over-saturated blockchain crowd. Just something to think about for the future.
dCITY and LEO
The other thing I'm doing more of is growing my dCITY again. Having laid waste to it over the summer with my experiment in living off of the blockchain, I've taken to building it up again. I like the fact that I can invest HIVE for city development, while getting a little bit back each and every day. With the recent changes, I'm now letting my SIM accumulate, while slowly working my way back up the rankings.
I also took a moment to invest in some LEO Miners, while increasing my delegation for daily rewards. Am also staking small amounts from time to time. The increase in the price was a nice added bonus and I really like where the LEO community is headed. Going forward, my goal is to arrange to begin creating more LEO-centric content so as to increase my contribution to growing platform. Bought and staked a little more LEO today, pushing me over 500. Next up: Orca. Wish me luck!
Promoting Hive on Twitter
The other thing I wanted to touch on is promoting Hive on Twitter. We have some amazing people promoting around the clock, but I tend to take a different approach. My point is to tweet as normal, and at a natural, organic moment promote a Hive post of another user or one of mine. This is done so as not to repeatedly hammer the followers with Hive promo after Hive promo, all day long. If this is working out for others, that's great. While they work to attract blockchain enthusiasts, I'd love to try and bring in a nice selection of the rest. Together, we can continue our efforts and increase the tribe.
