Function Type:
Date and Time
Description:
DATEDIF function calculates the number of days, months, or years between two dates. This function is useful in formulas where you need to calculate an age.
In my head, DATEDIF is short for Date Difference (Difference between Dates).
Function Structure:
=DATEDIF(start_date, end_date, unit)
Argument Breakdown:
start_date - Start date in Excel (date can be serial number format)
end_date - End date in Excel or Google Sheets (date can be serial number format)
unit - The time unit to use (years "Y", months "M", or days "D")
Example:
Days
Months
Years
