In the past few weeks, I have seen more than 5 Hivers with a blue tick on Twitter and they have a decent following. We should definitely think about getting one for the official account: https://twitter.com/hiveblocks. Don't know why we are still not there already. Our marketing needs to evolve with time and we need to move fast on that front.
For the uninitiated, a blue tick is a verification badge on Twitter that can be obtained by subscribing to the Twitter blue services. A few weeks ago, I published a Tweet from @DocumentingHive's Twitter account - Can we use DHF's money to get "Blue Checks" for active #Hive Influencers on Twitter?
Most folks did not agree to use it to sponsor "Blue Checks" for Hive influencers. I get it! DHF is limited and we should utilize it for more significant initiatives and if possible, sponsor the blue ticks ourselves. You may ask why? I will give you only two good reasons:
Human Psychology Around Blue Tick
Humans are suckers for attention. Blue Tick can enhance a user's status on the platform. It's social proof of the account's credibility & trustworthiness. Since it is normally associated with public figures, celebrities, and other famous people, it also acts as a status symbol. And for most people, that's powerful. A person on Twitter would definitely stop when they see a notification from an account with a blue check.
We spend so much time marketing hive and its ecosystem to the wider crypto community. If some of us have a blue tick on Twitter, it would lead to a great impact in return for our efforts. Crypto Twitter will start taking us seriously. It's like Hive power on Hive. People with big stakes have a big influence.
Algorithm Favors Twitter Blue Subscribers
The second reason would be to get a blue check for the algorithm. Dynamics on Twitter are different from what we have on Hive. If you subscribe to Twitter blue, you don't just get the blue check. You get more word count for your tweets & the ability to publish lengthier videos. Apart from this you get early access to all the latest features they develop and test. All in all, you get favored by the algorithm. I think this is a great enough reason to go for it.

Who Should Get Verified
Anyone who wants to promote Hive on Twitter and/or build their personal brand on the platform and enjoy exclusive features should go ahead with it. All the official accounts of Hive Dapps, Projects, and their Founders should definitely get one IMHO. It is more necessary for the security of your users because you would want to avoid impersonation and scams from a verified account under your name. Blue check increases visibility and brand recognition which simply means more engagement.
