Recently I was reading through a publication online when I stubbled on a report by cnbc.com quoting Elon Musk: that, "Paper money is going away".
As simple as this may sound, it is a fact that can not be ignored considering the rate of attention cryptocurrency is recently gaining internationally.
The recent pandemic ravaging the globe though in a negative light proved how vibrant the Digital Economy can be as against the traditional economy which nearly came to a halt due to the inability to carry out trades and make transactions as general movements were restricted in various quarters. Most businesses closed down as they ran into losses, workers displaced or laid off as there were limited finance to cater for them.
Wikipedia defines Digital Economy as an economy that is based on digital computing technologies, although we increasingly perceive this as conducting business through markets based on the Internet and the World Wide Web. The digital economy is also referred to as the Internet Economy, New Economy, or Web Economy.
However, while those whose businesses had no digital presence were lamenting, those who had earlier taken advantage of the digital economy were majorly up and doing. The beauty of the digital economy is not only that it saves time but that recently it has evolved into having its own digital currency which makes it more perfect for business transactions.
Notwithstanding this fact, this recent digital trend has seen to the development of several digital currencies as well as cryptocurrencies which is gradually becoming the order of the day and soon to take over fiat currencies as likely pointed out by Elon Musk.
It was also as a necessity that crypto such as Hive emerged and is competing favourably with its counterparts though currently not at the top for more recognition. A careful look at the daily statistics of hive users on hive blog as recently posted by @penguinpablo shows that hundreds of accounts are created on daily basis but uncertain on how to know the activeness and sustainability of those accounts over time.
Aside from trading hive as an investment option, there are other ways to increase the engagement and transactions of hive on daily basis so as to ensure its activeness and thereby increases its value and potential for more global recognition.
Last week, in my #hivetestimony post, I advocated for intense education for newhivers on the need for them to be well grounded on the operations and how to maximise hiveblog as quality content creators.
As a newbie on hive, there are so many challenges that can hinder one's effectiveness and efficiency if not well guarded. It is as such that I commend @Uyobong for his efforts and sacrifice to recruit and educated newhivers in his office bi-weekly.
Today, I want to advocate for another proactive and efficient measure to boost hive currency engagement and transactions which is through the creation of a market hub or community purely for trading of digital products whereby hive users with digital products can come exchange their products for hive currency. For this to be more effective, there has to be a unified exchanger in that community to ensure ease of transaction and trustworthiness.
If successfully created, will attract not only hive users to the community but also people from other social platforms, this will in turn boost the value of hive currency as there will be more users.
The growth in the value of hive is for the benefit of all, as such capable hands will be required to see to the creation of a market hub or community on the hive blog.
I hope the likes of @penguinpablo, @acidyo, @theycallmedan and many more others will look towards this direction.
