Mr. Bot's name is Archmage... To prevent one of the most common questions I receive about it. :)
Starting this season, Mr. Bot doesn't want to work for free anymore. And you know... we have to respect Mr. Bot's rights... right? :) It does the work, it gets something for the trouble.
Of course, bots don't have any rights yet... But there may be a time during our lifetime when they will. So, we'd better practice, lol.
Right now we are talking about a paid service. You pay, and you have access to the service. You don't pay, you don't. You can always do all the work yourself, as best as you can.
So, I discovered Mr. Bot refused to do any battles on my accounts for some time and I didn't know why. So I asked around.
I received the answer promptly. Mr. Bot is taking a cut on the loot going forward. No cut, no work.
The cut depends on the type of access pass you have. 15% for ARCHMAGEA, 25% for ARCHMAGEB, 35% for ARCHMAGE. The cut is taken from the staked SPS reward. Not from Cards, Packs, Merits, Potions or Leaderboard Prizes. Not for liquid SPS rewards (from liquidity pools or licenses). Hmm, question: how will land and Tower Defense SPS rewards be distributed? Staked or liquid?
The way this works is by delegating the required fee percent from your staked SPS rewards from ranked battles (only one or both formats, depending on what the bot plays), focus and season rewards to the billing account for ARCHMAGE.
This creates some difficulties if you have an account on which you still want to play yourself (like I do) because the delegation of staked SPS rewards doesn't discriminate between what you earn and what the bot earns. It'll take a cut from everything.
There is the option to stop the delegation on the days you want to play, but the bot shouldn't play on that day. This is a pretty annoying situation because it forces you to make a choice, either you or the bot, and to know the choice before the day starts.
Hard to quantify how much of a negative influence the fees will be. Obviously, if you win a lot of SPS, that cut given to the bot makes you wonder if it's worth it. If you win primarily other rewards or small amounts of SPS, this won't be the end of the world.
