Do you know that we humans are just so distracted that we cannot focus even better than a gold fish? This is the class where the average human is and so, it is very difficult for us to reach success in all of our endeavor including business and you see, just being discipline and have a very good work ethic is enough to put a person above 90% of individuals and so you are left to compete with the remaining 10%.
I want to share something today that has to do with what a lot of people in our world are unable to control or take a hold of and this is known as urge. Before I continue, let me quickly say that a person's ability to control their urges directly correlates with how successful they are. With what I just said, I do not think I need an interpreter to tell you that if you are unable to control your urges, or control yourself and be disciplined, then success is likely impossible.
First, if you are going to gain control of your urges, then you need to fight the things that are sharing your time energy and resources with you which you really do not want to do but you cannot fight it easily. One of those things for many young people is porn. The inability to stop watching porn even when you do not want to watch it is not being able to control your urges which means it is stealing your time to be productive, and the concentration during work before leaving to watch it.
Another urge that I usually talk to people about when they are on their journey to success financially or in business is substance abuse. You see, both porn and substance abuse are in the same category when it comes to distracting a person or stealing their time, brain power and resources. Thereby leading to decreased focus, increased anxiety and depression which is not good for the business of success. To be successful, you need to be in the right frame of mind. When you trigger your brain to release dopamine based on your addictions it gives the brain a satisfaction feeling that the day's goal has been met even when it has not been met, thereby leading to difficulty in focusing and inability to work hard.
That said, if you need to become successful after you have been able to focus and be productive, then you need to do something else which is working on yourself. The first thing is believing yourself. You see, you need to make it clear that you are special or even better than others. Billionaires and Millionaires have this thing about themselves, they believe that they are better than everyone around themselves and while it might sound bad, I did not say be rude.
I am saying these people put in a lot of work that they are able to say that they are better than the people around them even without them saying it out because they know. The problem with having this type of feeling is when it is not backed up with actions because when there is no backup, it becomes delusion. Even when you are failing amongst your peers, it shouldn't kill the believe that you are special provided you are putting in the work and as you do so, always try to be humble because humility is key.
It isn't roses and candies so you should expect your success journey to be stressful and so you should have a high stress tolerance. On your success journey, there will be a lot of things to work out, correct, face, straighten, and work on and if you are not built for high stress, you might break down. Having a high stress tolerance is important in this success journey. There are days I will look at myself and it will look like I might break only for you to see me up and this is because I have a high stress tolerance level.
Success isn't easy and anyone who tells you so is only telling you what they believe you want to hear so they can get their payment from you but realistically, the journey especially for myself has been stressful, painful, and tasking mentally in a way that it could affect ones mental health. It is just like body building where you aim to build your body, you cannot stop immediately you start to feel the pain because it is at that time that you would hear your coach say "No pain, No gain".
