I went to Akihabara for an interview for a part time job. I would like to work at a small supermarket in my neighborhood a couple of times a week during the evening hours.
I gave birth to my second son after retiring from my last job and have not worked in a company since then. So maybe this is the first step for me to get back into the workforce. I felt like if I didn't start working outside the home soon, I would be out of work for the rest of my life, so I decided to start part-time.
Oh, I still work as a food delivery crew (Uber eats, etc.) on a bicycle, although I haven't mentioned it on HIVE. I've been delivering for about two and a half years, and I've enjoyed the delivery itself quite a bit. But since COVID-19 dawned, the demand for food delivery has dropped. Compared to when I first started in the job, the number of orders has dropped significantly. The price per delivery has also dropped, and lately I find myself spending more and more time just cycling…
By the way, when people who know me in real life hear that I do food delivery, they say, "Wait a minute, are you kidding me?" or "Very surprising!" It seems that I look like the type of person who never moves from in front of the computer.
Indeed, I had been working in the office for a long time. I had been a full-time corporate employee for more than 10 years, but since the birth of my first son, I could not control the work very well. I could never get used to having to take time off when my child was sick, or having to leave early when the daycare called me at work... Even now, my second son is a middle child and although he is a quite healthy boy, he still gets sick from time to time. At times like that, food delivery was easy for me because I could completely decide whether or not I wanted to work that day. Again, I decided to work part time only during the hours that my husband was home to take care of our sons.
It had been several years since I had interviewed for a job or written a resume. The year before last, I passed a real estate-related certification exam, so I was happy to be able to put that in the qualifications section of my resume for the first time. But the person in charge of the interview didn't pay any attention to my real estate qualifications...well, it had nothing to do with the job description at all...he was very interested in the Uber eats delivery job, and we had a lot of fun talking about it. Well, it may have been a good appeal to show that I was physically strong.
There was also a paper test, but I didn't feel like I solved it very well. I can't say for sure since there are still some things I don't know, like whether or not my wishes match the store's requirements, but I will wait and hope for the best.

パートタイムの仕事の面接のため、秋葉原へ行ってきました。週に2〜3回、夜の時間帯に近所の小型スーパーで働きたいと思っています。
私は前職を退職後に次男を出産し、その後は会社勤めはしてきませんでした。だから社会復帰？というのでしょうか… そろそろ少しずつ（外での）仕事を始めないと、もう戻れなくなるような気がして、パートから始めることにしたのです。
あ、現在も一応、フードデリバリー（Uber eatsなど）の自転車配達員はしています。なんとなく、HIVEには書いてこなかったのですが。配達歴は2年半ほどで、結構楽しくやってきました。ただコロナが明けて需要が下がったためか、始めた当初と比べて注文数が大きく減ってしまいました。配達一件あたりの単価も下がり、最近では気づけばただサイクリングをしているだけの時間が長くなっていたのです…。
ちなみに、私を知っている人は私がフードデリバリーの配達をしていると聞くと、「えええ嘘！」「意外！」と、とても驚きます。私はパソコンの前から動かないタイプの人間に見えるらしいです。
確かに、私は長いこと事務系の仕事をしていました。10年以上正社員として会社勤めをしていたのですが、長男が生まれた頃からどうも上手く調整ができなくなりました。子どもの体調不良で休まなければならなかったり、保育園から会社に電話が掛かってきて早退しなければならなかったり…という状況に、私はいつまで経っても慣れることができなかったのです。現在も次男は年中で、かなり頑丈な方ではあるものの、それでも時々体調を崩します。そんな時フードデリバリーは、稼働するかどうかを完全に自分で決められるので気が楽でした。今回のパートについても、家に夫がいて、子どもをみてくれることが確実な時間帯だけやってみようという試みです。
仕事の面接も、履歴書を書くのも数年ぶりでした。一昨年宅地建物取引士の試験に合格したので（登録はしていない）、初めて資格欄にそれを記入する機会となりちょっと嬉しかったです。でも面接の担当は宅建士の資格になど見向きもせず…まあ、業務内容にも全く関係ないですしね…Uber eatsの配達の方にひどく興味を示し、その話で盛り上がってしまいました。やっててよかったUber eats。まぁ、体力があるアピールにはなったかもしれません。
ペーパーテストもあり、あまり解けた気はしないので、通ったかどうか分かりません。互いの条件が合致するかどうかもまだ分からない部分があるので何とも言えませんが、期待して待ちたいと思います。
