Links are an important part of search engine optimization. A link or hyperlink is an object that is clickable and leads from one page to another. Links may lead users to another website or on another page on the same website.
Internal Links
Internal links are between the pages within a website. Search engines determine this looking at the domain name. If the links on page leads to other pages on a same website, these are called internal links.
Inbound Links
Inbound links are the links that come from other websites or a different domain name.
Outbound Links
Outbound links on a website links out to websites having a different domain name.
Inbound links are deemed to be of most beneficial in terms of Search Engine Optimization but they are also the hardest to obtain.
Links on pages are like votes of trust, authority and credibility. The more links a page get, the more votes its getting thus can improve its ranking.
However, it's not only about the quantity of links. The quality of links also is evaluated by Google.
