A crypto-based online travel ticketing service, Travala has expanded its crypto payment options to support major tokens running on the Solana Network.
During a Solana conference on Sept.21, the CEO of Travala Juan Otero announced the integration with Solana.
The partnership will allow users to book hotels and flights using native tokens of Solana, SOL, and major stablecoins Tether and USD Coin on the Solana blockchain.
Focusing on quicker and cheaper execution of smart contracts and DApps, the Solana network is a direct competitor of Ethereum.
While Travala has a history of taking payments in the form of Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies, such as Ether, with the integration of Solana, users can now deposit and withdraw supported tokens directly on Travala accounts with zero fees while booking travel.
The collaboration was rejoiced by the crypto enthusiasts and investors on X hoping for a travel experience that is seamless.
In the near future, Travala will also introduce SOL travel rewards.
