It has been 141 hours since the first massive earthquake hit 10 cities in Turkiye. Officially, there are 24,617 casualties but the number must be quite higher than that.
From the very beginning, lots of countries have sent their Search and Rescue teams, first aid workers and financial support for the earthquake victims. I see lots of Hive people sending their good wishes to Turkiye. Even though politicians sometimes fight for ridiculous reasons, people do not. Glad to prove it once again when there is a catastrophe in a part of the world.
Most of the buildings in both my hometown and in the nearby towns are destroyed by the two massive and long-lasting earthquakes. The rest of the buildings that were also damaged with the thousands of aftershock waves. Meanwhile, some rescue teams and rescue dogs got hurt while trying to save lives 😔 They will be honoured with statues and the streets for their names when the cities are built back.
Just recently Spain Sent Field Hospital and it will cure thousands of people who were injured heavily because of the earthquake.
A team of 84 people consisting of logistics, coordination and health personnel was sent to Türkiye together with the field hospital equipped with the latest technologies and medicines, which is capable of caring for 150-200 patients a day, hosting 20 people with beds, and performing surgery.
Imagine these people flied to Turkiye to perform surgery by putting their lives at risk in the area of 2 massive earthquakes. Maybe I'm too emotional these days but this is awesome.
The search and rescue operations are ongoing. However, most of the founds bodies are unfortunately ...
In terms of relief aid, there is no problem with the clothes and food supply. However, there are not enough tents, kindling and thunderbox (portable) for people. The case is almost similar in Syria. As far as I remember, there are around 5,000 people who lost their lives.
