So X has a tipping coin, and it's literally called TIP Coin.
And NO, it was not launched by Elon but by someone called Swapo on X (formerly Twitter). He has no bio or whatsoever on his profile. Apparently, he is Tipcoin's founder and lead developer, at least that's what it was mentioned in their Medium publication.
Accordingly, the project was launched on the 1st of this month as a social experiment, and 2 weeks later, there are over 100k users on their platform and more than 157k followers on tipcoin's X account. The future of social interaction, they say.
Tipcoin (The platform)
Tipcoin is built as a SocialFi that is scalable and reliable. It "operates as a decentralized social platform, rewarding users on Twitter (formerly known as X) for their engagement and tweets."¹
❇️TIP Coin (The Token)
Tip coin or $TIP is an ERC-20 utility token that powers the Tipcoin platform. It is a "coin to reward creators and community."².

- Total Supply: 100,000,000,000 (Unconfirmed. There is no mention of this in the announcement of the tokenomics).

There was no pre-sale and the tokens are earned for free by users. The distribution of TIP obtained from Medium.

- Community: 35% (Platform users)
- Liquidity PRovision: 15% (On Epoch 1)
- Airdrop: 40% (15% for Epoch 1, 20% for Epoch 2 and 5% for Epoch 3)
How to Earn $TIP
Epoch 2 is almost concluding. The third Epoch starts on the 16th of September and runs until the 21st of September.

➡️ Approve the request (if you agree of course) tipcoin to access and connect to your X account.
➡️Activate your account by following the instructions provided.
To start earning rewards (points), go to X and reply, quote tweet or create tweets and simply mention $tip or #tip @tipcoineth and you will be awarded points.
"The level of engagement on the tweets, including likes, views, comments, and more, determines the number of points accumulated."³
There's a multiplier depending on the type of tip users make.
- Original Tweet: 30x point multiplier
- Tipped Quote: 10x point multiplier
- Tipped Reply: 1x point multiplier-
- Replied kickbacks: 1/10 points per tip

Read more details here. There's a calculator there where users can check the expected points they earn. Epoch 1 concluded and Epoch 2 is in its last hours.
Users can track their own stats (progress or activities) on the tipcoin platform. There's a leaderboard there too.
Apparently, bots are flagged internally so at the end of each Epoch, there will be a final checking and readjusting of points. Users will need to connect their wallets within the specified time so they will be able to claim their TIP coins when the "CLAIM" button is enabled.

Personal Thoughts
Tipcoin is a very new project and while it is pretty easy and simple to earn points by using X and mentioning $tip or #tip and @tipcoinetch, I recommend using it at your own discretion.
There is a teaser on its X account where it mentioned the token launch is today, 15th of September but there are no further details yet. It will be interesting how this project pans out.
