It is very common to receive random Hive-Engine coins accidentally. I, for example, do not buy Hive-Engine coins. I think I did buy and sell a few to try but I realized that it was not worth trading them because the liquidity is very low.
Despite not buying any coins, I have dozens of different coins, and I have got them all for free. Some of them I have got by the hundreds and some by the thousands, but since they are worth pennies, or even less, none sums up to even $100.
But that is exactly because Hive-Engine tokens have low market caps and low liquidity. For now Hive-Engine, as a smart contract platform, is not very smart. Smart contracts are very limited, and expensive for what they offer. If you want to be creative and invest something new using new logic, you need to bake your smart contract code into the Hive-Engine repository, basically, the witnesses need to approve your code, differently from Ethereum and other smart contract blockchains, where anyone can code anything any time and deploy instantly!
Because Hive-Engine is so limited it limits the functionality, it also makes ita huge entry barrier for devs.
Although limited, I am not selling any of that. I believe that eventually, Hive-Engine will surpass those issues. I believe eventually it will become a fully-fledged smart contract platform, I believe it will become Turing complete and developer-friendly, and all of that I believe will make the market caps and liquidity skyrocket.
If random coins with animals as their logos can do it, Hive-Engine can eventually do it too. I just hope I don't have to wait too long for that...
If you are a Hive-Engine dev, what you can do, or call others to do, is make tutorials. The more developer and beginner-friendly Hive-Engine becomes the more widespread the adoption will be.
Right now everyone is a Hive-Engine customer, consuming pre-approved smart contracts and paying for that. Hive-Engine needs to be a platform, not a product, and to become a platform you need to give independence to the developers! To do that you need to teach and make it easier and easier to develop independently.
