This movie's opening is a good one. I couldn't stop as soon as I started. I had this feeling there will be something there. No, the last thing I wanted to watch was anything related to the family business. But Fallon started the narrative in such a powerful way that I couldn't stop right after I started. I like the fact that I continued though because even though I couldn't find lessons in the first two episodes, I finally had something to share with you on the third.

The family business
You see, in the last five years, Fallon had vied for the position of COO in her dad's company. The Corrington is such a powerful name and family that they own a large part of the world. You could be using a service without actually knowing it belongs to them. It's that deep. You could mess with their business and get into trouble with the entire family.
Although Blake Carrington is old school according to Fallon, his daughter, he built a legacy that no one's been able to beat as the movie portrays at the beginning. Now, Fallon is really sure that her dad would let her take the position of COO because she had worked hard for the position. She did this by making sure her father's business stayed up to date on every development and event that was happening outside the old-school business notion that her dad knew.
An enemy at her toes
However, there's a twist, for out of nowhere, Cristal walks into her dad's life, and it seems she's not only going to be her step mum, but she would be taking Fallon's place in the sight of her dad. It was really heartbreaking from the beginning up to the point where Blake handed the position of COO to Cristal. Fallon would have it no other way, she tried to sabotage everything that had to do with her new step mum and boss.
She moved further and tried to break away from her dad by trying to use the Carrington name to start out on her own. Her father wouldn't let that happen and claimed the name is a trademark and no one can use it as they deem fit, not even Fallon. He even told her, her mum had tried to do so in the past, which warranted the need to trademark the name.
The blueprint
While Fallon tries hard to find dirt on her dad so he could be placed in a tight position to allow her to use the family name, her chauffeur, Michael whispers these words to her;
You are so concerned about finding an advantage over your father and you already have it. It's you. You are smarter than anyone on Blake's contact list. Anyone at that company. You never let anything in your way. You are unstoppable. Dynasty
Once he said this, I was crazy because he said the truth. This is something we all use to forget whenever we get to our lowest point, especially in terms of finances.
Every time someone said we should Invest in ourselves, we might laugh it off. It doesn't always sound logical because there's no dollar attached to it. Yet, we have heard that a lot of people had lost it all but finally managed to get back on their feet and one of the things that helped them through it out had their knowledge.
No matter how you want to put it, the market or the world around you might take everything away from you, there's one thing they won't be able to take away... What you have upstairs.
The keys
Your intellectual property is the number one thing that you really should invest in. Stop laughing at those motivational speakers because they are right about this one. If you lost all of your money today or your partner left you because you lost your business, don't go and drown yourself in alcohol, women, or drugs, drown yourself in knowledge instead.
There has to be a reason, Solomon asked the Almighty to give him wisdom instead of money. I mean in this time and age, if God offered us that preposition, I have a feeling that my age mates would choose the money instead of asking for wisdom.
Nurture your knowledge
Wisdom is the principal thing, the scripture affirms, what you know could be the turning point for your breakthrough... I know I am sounding like a preacher of the Gospel right now. But this gospel needs to be taught, repeated, and drummed into you so you will always remember that as long as you have your brains and your ability to think, all is not lost.
You have something that the world needs, all you have to do is groom it, nurture it like Fallon, and you will be unstoppable. You will no longer see a setback as a setback but as a stepping for something more powerful to come.
A time to build wealth
Never has knowledge and wisdom failed, never, everything you know if channeled in the right direction has the tendency to change your destiny. All you have to do is figure out how. I won't lie that I have mine all figured out, I don't, I go to bed and wake up every day hoping that one day I'll find that eureka moment, and I am hoping that as a consistent and thirsty knowledge-seeking individual, you will find it too.
You have your intellect, no one and nothing can take that away from you... So use it to build your desired wealth. And never forget how powerful you are.
