When all else fails, use the accumulated knowledge and build again!

When I watched The Set Up, I loved the children's mother, Mrs. Elesho. Initially, I felt bad for her over the fact that she couldn't hold down her husband who ran off and had a child out of wedlock. But watching her take matters into her own hands without caring what the consequence would be, I had no choice but to admire her.

It takes a courageous woman to forgive her husband's infidelity, the Mistress, and still go ahead and take the child into her care and treat the child as though it were hers. Yes, it was heartbreaking to see the child, Charity, separated from her mother at birth, but knowing wealthy and powerful families, they don't usually like scandals. So they will always do their best to stay off bad publicity in order to make sure businesses go on as planned and investors don't have any bad reasons to bail out on them. Therefore, I loved the way she decided to take whatever and whoever her husband procreated and take care of the human as blood.

But this one move had somehow proved fatal because the child accidentally died which made everything she wanted to protect look bad. Her child, Motunrayo had been watching the child, only to take her off her for a few seconds and the three-year-old child fell off the balcony, and died. Enitan, the mother of the baby was hurt, everyone was because Mr. Elesho left home and I guess nothing remained the same until he died of a heart attack.

Dying and leaving the Will to the remaining two children of his, his wife, and leaving the mistress out because she no longer had any connection with the family made, Enitan mad with rage and she wanted a piece of the pie, or as it turned out in the end, she was greedy for every piece of Darajo shares and company.

Little Motunrayo had made a promise to do whatever, Enitan, wanted without question after Charity died and when her dad died without including Enitan in the will, she told her she would be back to get 33% of the share that would have been her daughter's if she was still alive. She accepted.

In her innocence, she did not know that Enitan wasn't just out for 33% alone. It was everything that she wanted. With every move made on the table, Enitan got closer and closer to getting what she wanted. She sacrificed a lot of people as pawns on the road to revenge and feeding her greed and this was her major mistake. This is because the people she tried to sacrifice turned against her and worked better moves than hers and she met her downfall.

However, this post wasn't going to be about Enitan. If it was, then, I would have been talking about it from a vengeance angle. This post was going to be about Mrs. Elesho.

By the time, her daughter had joined in the con to take 33% of the shares from everyone and hand them over to charity's mum, thereby, fulfilling her promise, she blindly made her mum give away the entire company. Once she realized that Enitan was planning something much bigger than 33% of the shares, it was already too late because her brother had been accused of being an accessory to the drug mule, Chike, who served Enitan for many years, and both of them were made to take the fall. When that happened, Mrs Elesho, just like, every powerful family would do took the shares from her son and handed it over to her daughter to protect the family's name. It was the motive all along. Motunrayo thought the next move would be to bring her mom face to face with Enitan while they negotiated to clear her brother's name if Enitan gets Charity's shares.

But things changed or should I say, everything Enitan had under her sleeves opened up at this meeting.

Her mum was asked to give up her entire share, while Motunrayo gave up hers and that of her brothers if they wanted to clear their brother's name. This meant the entire company would belong to Enitan as she became the major shareholder.

Now this is the highlight of this post. Mrs. Elesho accepted. She cut her losses and left the company for Enitan. She chose her son over whatever revenue or income the company would bring in the future.

This is something that most people would never do. Some people would sell off their families just to be able to hold onto a portion of the good and flashy lifestyles that they have been accustomed to.

I wanted to use this movie to remind you that having money means you are free to do what you want. Like Mrs. Elesho choosing her son over the family business. And I wanted to say that she was able to do that because she probably had investments elsewhere that she could fall back on so she had no financial worries. But while writing, I remembered the movie did not share if she had invested in any other thing apart from the company her dead husband left for her and her children.

This is where it hit me! She did not choose her son and her family over the company because she stashed money somewhere. No! I would never know because it wasn't mentioned. But if she did not have stashes anywhere, why did she do that?

Then I remembered, that when it comes to making money and building wealth, society may take away your source of income but they can never take away the information and knowledge that you have inside of you.

With that knowledge, you can build again even though it means doing it from scratch. Unlike Enitan who plotted her way into stealing the company instead of creating hers, Mrs. Elesho with all the years of experience can redo it all over again. She will be able to use all that she has learned and build another company.

This one might even be bigger and better because she's not learning as she goes, she will be implementing all the things that she noticed worked all those years. You know that particular phase of life that you reach, and you wish you knew the things you know now before, and you keep imagining what your life would have been if you did? Yes, that!

Mrs. Elesho did not need to hold onto grudges or try to fight for the company when she had every tiny bit of experience to start all over again.

So when you are trying to get wealthy, gain knowledge and experience too. You will need it when you wake up one morning and everything has fallen apart. You will need it so you won't have any reason to commit suicide when it does. Instead, you will use all that you have known in your entire life, all the skills you've mastered to build, and catapult yourself to wealth again.
