On November 03, 2022, Binance organized its first meeting in Sri Lanka, and aimed to empower local people interested in blockchain and Web3 by giving them the right knowledge about blockchain technology. Apart from that, there was sharing of knowledge on how to integrate the technology with different fields.
In this program, the local 'Binance Angel' agents held a session to share their experiences, where they were informed about the programs launched by Binance to develop awareness related to blockchain technology in the South Asian region.
The Binance meeting held in Colombo was an educational program organized with the aim of introducing people to the crypto and blockchain technology environment, and more than 150 people interested in blockchain technology participated in the program.
Commenting positively on the growth of the local blockchain industry, Mr. Raj Karan, Asia and Eastern European Regional Strategy Director of Binance, said, "We are constantly committed to developing the industry by dispelling the myths that have been built about the crypto industry in Sri Lanka.People in this country seem to be less aware of Binance, which creates ecosystems for Blockchain and Web3 technology. Crypto is an integral part of our service. It can be introduced as another unique technological innovation that we focus on. That is why we are constantly focused and committed to expanding this industry.” Namely.
Binance has supported more than 300 educational programs launched in the South Asian region to provide solutions to problems related to Blockchain technology, and through more than 50 educational institutions including universities and private universities in the region, about blockchain technology and web3 transformation. Local student bodies aim to organize empowerment and awareness programmes.
