Overview
It is a British Overseas Territory situated in the Western Caribbean Sea. It is very famous for its vibrant coral reefs, stunning beaches and Crystal clear waters. Cayman Islands Economy is one of the strongest economies in the world and it is dependent on tourism and offshore finance.
It is home to many major global financial centres with many trust companies, international banks and insurance companies. It has a population of 68000 people and The total land area of the islands is approximately 264 square kilometres.
Gold Reserves
Their gold reserves were just over 4000 troy Ounces but they grow their gold reserves, and according to the research conducted in September 2021, the Cayman Islands has a total of 1330 Kilograms of reserves in gold, which is equal to 43000 troy Ounces.
History
The country has a long history of gold trading and gold mining. It is dated back to the 16th century. In the 16 century when the Spanish visited this island with the desire to find gold and they mined the islands for their rich deposits of precious metal.
In the 17 Century, the English came here and rule this Island. During their rule, they also show interest in Island's Gold.
The English established a trading post on the islands and began to trade in gold with other European nations.

The country's gold reserves are held and managed by the Central Bank of the Cayman Islands, they store gold in the shape of gold bars. These gold bars are stored in Secure vaults all around the Island.
